JOB OVERVIEW

Eagle Production Co. | Wall Township, NJ (Hybrid or Remote for the right candidate) | Full-Time

About Eagle Production Co.
Eagle Production Co. is a nationwide AV equipment rental and production company based in New Jersey, running for over a decade.

We rent and support audio, video, lighting, rigging, and power equipment for events across the country — from corporate premieres to touring productions.

Over the past year we’ve built something most companies our size don’t have: a full custom operations platform that runs the business — CRM, quoting, invoicing, payments, inventory availability, COI compliance, crew staffing, payroll support, fleet logistics, and customer/freelancer/driver portals. It was built fast using AI-assisted development (Lovable + Supabase), it’s live, it processes real money, and it works.
Now it needs an owner.

The Role
You will take over our platform as its dedicated engineer and technical owner. This is not a greenfield job and it’s not maintenance-only — it’s both harder and more interesting than either. You’ll inherit a large, live, AI-built codebase (~700 files, 150+ Supabase edge functions, 100+ database tables) and be responsible for three things:
1. Keep it stable. New features have historically broken existing ones. You’ll change that — with tests around the money logic, disciplined releases, and real code review of every change, whether written by you or by AI tools.
2. Keep it moving. The feature roadmap doesn’t stop. You’ll ship new functionality weekly, working directly with the CEO, using AI-assisted development where it’s fast and hand-written code where it’s right.
3. Lead the migration off Flex Rental Solutions. Our inventory and operations still run partly on Flex. Over the next phases of our roadmap, this platform becomes the single hub for all company operations. You’ll architect and execute that migration — inventory, scanning, availability, warehouse workflows — without disrupting live operations.

What You’ll Do
• Own the full stack: React/TypeScript frontend, Supabase backend (Postgres, RLS, edge functions, storage, cron), and the integrations around them (payment processing, QuickBooks, Gmail, Flex API, HubSpot, shipping/logistics APIs)
• Stabilize and harden the existing codebase: eliminate duplicate logic, add a test suite around pricing, tax, invoicing, and payment flows, and close security gaps (RLS coverage, endpoint auth, storage policies)
• Build new features end to end from CEO-defined requirements — often same-week turnaround
• Plan and execute the Flex migration in phases: data model, sync strategy, cutover plan, rollback plan
• Establish engineering discipline that survives AI-assisted development: GitHub-based workflow, pre-change audits, batched changes, post-change verification
• Support the team using the platform daily (sales, warehouse, finance, HR) — triage issues fast, communicate clearly with non-technical users
• Document what you build so the company is never dependent on any one tool or person
What We’re Looking For

Required:
• 5+ years full-stack experience with deep React + TypeScript
• Strong PostgreSQL, including Row-Level Security, and hands-on Supabase (or equivalent: Firebase + SQL, Hasura, etc.)
• Experience owning a production system that handles real money — payments, invoicing, or e-commerce — and the paranoia that comes with it
• Fluency with AI-assisted development (Claude Code, Cursor, Lovable, Copilot or similar) AND the judgment to review, constrain, and correct what those tools produce. We work AI-first here; we don’t work AI-blind.
• Experience integrating third-party APIs (payment gateways, accounting, email)
• Ability to work directly with a fast-moving, hands-on CEO: translate business requirements into working software quickly, push back when something is a bad idea, and explain technical tradeoffs in plain English
Strongly preferred:
• Experience inheriting and stabilizing a large existing codebase (rescue/refactor work)
• Migration experience: replacing a legacy system of record without downtime
• Testing discipline: Vitest/Jest, and knowing what’s worth testing in a business app
Nice to have:
• Rental, events, AV, or logistics industry exposure
• Flex Rental Solutions, QuickBooks API, or Cardknox/payment gateway experience
• Mobile/PWA experience (our warehouse runs barcode scanning on the platform)
What This Job Is Not
• Not a junior role with AI doing the thinking — AI writes a lot of first drafts here; you own correctness
• Not a big-company pace — decisions happen in hours, not sprints
• Not siloed — you’ll talk to warehouse staff, salespeople, and the CEO in the same day
Compensation & Details
• Salary: based on experience,
