JOB OVERVIEW

We are hiring a Lead Developer to help build and scale a fast-moving media network powered by modern web technologies and LLM-driven content automations.

This is NOT a generalist junior role. It is for ONLY the most advanced and fastest-learning developers.

We are looking for an advanced developer who can work directly with management to architect, build, improve, and deploy media websites and the systems behind them.

The right person will be comfortable operating across application logic, automation workflows, content systems, and front-end execution.

You'll be responsible for:

* Enhancing existing news story content automations
* Building new automations for op-eds and other article/story formats
* Creating systems that leverage LLMs to generate unique media content workflows
* Duplicating, configuring, and deploying new WordPress websites
* Improving website design, usability, and front-end presentation
* Developing unique website elements and custom functionality
* Integrating and maintaining automations across multiple tools in our stack
* Supporting the continued growth of a multi-site media network

Required qualifications

You should have deep, hands-on experience with:

* JavaScript and TypeScript
* LLM-based product development and prompt/system workflow design
* Basic web development across front-end and back-end workflows
* WordPress, including practical experience with the WordPress REST API
* Building scalable automations and integrating third-party platforms
* Working directly with stakeholders or management to translate business needs into technical execution

You must be capable of operating at a SENIOR or LEAD level. This role is for advanced developers only.
NOTE: "advanced" doesn't have a professional work experience requirement (in years). If you're just out of university or developed capabilities with these technologies early, you may still be a fit for the job.

Nice to have

The following are strong pluses:

* Basic UX design sense
* Search engine optimization knowledge
* Experience improving content sites for engagement, usability, and discoverability
* Familiarity with media, publishing, or editorial workflow systems

Platforms in our stack

You should be comfortable working with or learning platforms such as:

* ---------- v
* Zapier
* ----------
* OpenAI models
* Google Gemini models
* WordPress

TO APPLY:

Please send:

* A short introduction
* Your resume or LinkedIn
* Examples of relevant work
* The word "blue" in your application
* A brief summary of projects involving JavaScript/TypeScript, WordPress, APIs, automations, or LLMs

If you have built publishing systems, content automations, or AI-assisted media workflows, include those examples specifically.

Candidates will undergo between 2 and 3 rounds of interviews with various staff and members of upper management.

The winning candidate will receive a temporary trial contract of 2 weeks, with $500 compensation.
