JOB OVERVIEW

Mod Kitchens and Design Center is a Canadian kitchen, bath, closet, and flooring design company. We are expanding our design team and looking for a talented remote kitchen designer who can support our client projects by producing accurate layouts, elevations, and renderings in 2020 Design Live.

You’ll work closely with our lead designers, who handle client meetings, and you’ll handle the production design work behind the scenes.

Role Overview

You will be responsible for preparing complete design packages based on the design brief provided by our in-house team.

Your Responsibilities

Create kitchen layouts in 2020 Design Live
Produce 2D floor plans
Produce cabinet elevations
Produce 3D renderings (3–5 views)
Create cabinet lists / takeoffs and input into online order system
Make revisions based on feedback
Follow our company’s design standards and cabinet rules
Communicate clearly and meet deadlines

You do not need to meet with clients — our Canada-based designers take care of that.

Required Skills

2+ years experience in kitchen design
Strong proficiency with 2020 Design Live
Knowledge of North American cabinets (frameless)
Ability to read measurements and convert sketches into accurate plans
Attention to detail and ability to follow processes
Good English communication

Bonus skills:

Experience with closets or bathroom layouts

Experience with SketchUp, AutoCAD, or Chief Architect
