Position Summary
We are seeking highly motivated and experienced K–12 Virtual Tutors to provide engaging online instruction to students following the U.S. curriculum.
Priority will be given to tutors who are experienced in preparing students for standardized examinations such as the SAT and ACT.
Successful candidates should possess excellent communication skills, strong subject expertise, and the ability to adapt lessons to meet individual student needs while maintaining a positive virtual learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
Instruction & Teaching
Deliver high-quality one-on-one virtual tutoring sessions.
Teach students across assigned K–12 grade levels.
Prepare students for quizzes, exams, assignments, and standardized tests.
Deliver engaging and interactive lessons using approved teaching methodologies.
Personalize instruction based on each student's learning style and academic needs.
Encourage critical thinking, problem-solving, and independent learning.
Reinforce classroom learning while addressing individual learning gaps.
SAT & ACT Preparation (Priority)
Tutors with SAT and ACT expertise will:
Deliver structured SAT and ACT preparation classes.
Teach SAT Math, Reading, Writing & Language, and Essay strategies where applicable.
Teach ACT Math, English, Reading, Science, and Writing preparation.
Develop customized test-preparation plans.
Conduct diagnostic assessments to identify strengths and improvement areas.
Track student performance through regular practice tests.
Coach students on test-taking strategies, pacing, and time management.
Help students improve target scores for college admissions.
Curriculum Delivery
Teach in accordance with the U.S. K–12 curriculum and Common Core standards.
Follow Spark Xplorer lesson plans and curriculum objectives.
Prepare students for school assessments and standardized examinations.
Deliver lessons aligned with student learning goals.
Adapt teaching strategies for struggling, average, and advanced learners.
Student Engagement
Build positive relationships with students.
Foster a safe, encouraging, and inclusive learning environment.
Keep students actively engaged throughout every session.
Encourage curiosity and confidence.
Use questioning techniques to deepen understanding.
Provide constructive feedback that motivates learners.
Parent Communication
Communicate professionally with parents when required.
Share student progress updates.
Highlight learning achievements and areas for improvement.
Escalate concerns through the appropriate Spark Xplorer channels.
Progress Reporting
Complete accurate lesson reports after every tutoring session.
Record student attendance and participation.
Document learning progress and recommendations.
Maintain accurate academic records.
Technology & Virtual Classroom
Use approved online teaching tools including:
Zoom or Google Meet
Google Workspace
Digital whiteboards
Screen-sharing software
Learning Management Systems (LMS)
Spark Xplorer platform
Approved AI tools to improve lesson preparation and student learning
Tutors are expected to maintain:
Stable high-speed internet

Maintain professional boundaries with students.
Follow all child safeguarding policies.
Protect student confidentiality.

Candidates capable of teaching multiple subjects and grade levels will have a strong advantage.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Education or a related field.
Teaching certification is an advantage.
Minimum of 2 years teaching or tutoring experience.
Experience teaching K–12 students.
Online tutoring experience is highly preferred.
Experience teaching U.S.-based students is an added advantage.
Familiarity with Common Core standards is preferred.
Previous SAT and ACT tutoring experience is highly desirable.
