JOB OVERVIEW

Role Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented Junior CPA / Staff Accountant to handle our day-to-day accounting operations, maintain accurate financial records, and support our growing team with operational financial analysis. Reporting directly to leadership, this hands-on role will help track fleet performance, manage routine financial reporting, and assist in analyzing vehicle profitability..

Key Responsibilities
Core Accounting & Operations: Manage day-to-day accounting transactions, general ledger maintenance, accounts payable/receivable, payroll processing, and month-end closing activities.
Financial Reporting & Forecasting: Assist in preparing monthly financial statements, basic cash flow reports, and budget updates for company management.
Fleet Performance Analysis: Gather and analyze data on individual vehicle expenses, revenue, and fuel efficiency to track unit-level profitability.
Onboarding & Risk Support: Help run preliminary financial and cost checks on new vehicles joining the fleet to ensure alignment with company margin targets.
Process Improvement: Maintain tidy financial records, streamline expense tracking workflows, and support external tax/audit prep.

Qualifications
Certification: CPA active license (or CPA candidate close to completion).
Experience: 1–3 years of accounting or audit experience (public accounting background or small-business staff accounting preferred).
Industry Interest: Interest or experience in transportation, trucking, logistics, or fleet operations is a plus, but not required.
Technical & Analytical Skills: Strong foundational knowledge of GAAP, sharp attention to detail, and comfort working with financial data.
Mindset: Proactive, self-motivated, and comfortable taking ownership of routine accounting tasks in a fast-moving small business setting.
Leadership Experience: Have experience working at a CFO level.

Preferred Tech Stack & Skills
Accounting Software: QuickBooks Online (or similar small-business ERPs).
Spreadsheets: Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, basic financial models).
Operations & Payroll Platforms: Experience with tools like ADP, Ramp, ---------- , or Fleet Management Software / TMS is a plus.
Reporting Tools: Basic exposure to Power BI or Tableau is a bonus, but not required.
