Job Opportunity: Video Editor & Creative Strategist (DTC & AI-Focused)

We are an ambitious new brand dedicated to revolutionizing the hair care industry with innovative products that prevent hair loss and stimulate growth. Our mission is to empower individuals by restoring their confidence through effective, science-backed solutions. As we embark on this journey, we are seeking a creative powerhouse who can not only edit compelling videos but also deeply understands how to connect with an audience facing hair loss challenges, turning viewers into loyal customers. You will be our first specialized video expert, with the unique opportunity to shape the visual narrative and advertising strategy for our brand.

The Role and Responsibilities

In this hybrid role of Video Editor and Creative Strategist, you will be responsible for the end-to-end process of our video advertisements. You will start by analyzing market trends, competitor strategies, and consumer psychology related to hair loss solutions, translating these insights into winning creative concepts. You are adept at identifying and leveraging effective content from competitors, transforming it into unique, original narratives through clever editing and the strategic addition of relevant B-roll that resonates with our target audience.

A core part of your work will involve the seamless integration of AI technologies. You will utilize ElevenLabs for high-quality, emotionally resonant voice-overs and leverage advanced AI tools to supplement missing footage, generate compelling visuals, or enrich existing content. You possess a profound understanding of the psychology behind a great "hook" in the context of sensitive topics like hair loss, knowing precisely how to grab and hold the viewer's attention within the crucial first three seconds, often by showcasing transformative 'before & after' results or addressing common pain points.

What We Expect from You

To be successful in this role, you possess a unique combination of technical skills and strategic insight, particularly within the health and beauty or personal care sectors. We are looking for someone with the following background:

Content Sourcing: You are an expert at finding and curating relevant footage from competitors, stock sources, and user testimonials, with a keen eye for content that effectively communicates product benefits for hair growth and loss prevention.

AI Expertise: You have proven experience with tools like ElevenLabs and AI video generators to enhance content, particularly for creating realistic B-roll and compelling voice-overs that support the narrative of hair restoration.

DTC Experience: You possess a deep understanding of Direct-to-Consumer e-commerce dynamics, especially in the health/beauty niche, and know what makes a video ad convert by addressing customer concerns and aspirations related to hair health.

Proven Track Record: You can provide a portfolio showcasing successful projects for other brands, ideally within the health, beauty, or personal care sectors, demonstrating your ability to drive engagement and conversions.

Creative Strategy: You have the ability to think critically about the "why" behind a video, developing and actively testing different hooks, angles, and emotional appeals that resonate with individuals experiencing hair loss.

Selection Process: The Test Assignment

We believe in actions over words. Therefore, we ask selected candidates to create two test videos. This will allow us to see how you apply different styles and strategies to our brand, specifically focusing on hair loss prevention and growth stimulation.

Video 1: The Direct Response "Problem-Solution" Ad for Hair Loss

Create a 30-45 second video directly aimed at conversion for a hair loss prevention and growth product. Use sourced content (e.g., demonstrating hair thinning, before/after transformations), add AI-generated B-roll where necessary to illustrate product efficacy or user experience, and use an ElevenLabs voice-over to articulate the common problem of hair loss and present our product as the compelling solution. Focus heavily on the first 3 seconds (the hook) to immediately capture attention and convey hope or a solution.

Video 2: The "Social Proof / UGC Style" Variation for Hair Regrowth

Create a second video (15-30 seconds) that feels like authentic User Generated Content, focusing on the positive outcomes of hair regrowth or improved hair health. Use a different angle or an alternative hook for the same product, perhaps highlighting a personal journey or testimonial. Show us how you can create a trustworthy and persuasive atmosphere that fits perfectly into a social media feed, using minimal resources and smart AI additions to emphasize genuine results and build community trust.
