Company Overview

Hard Fork Distillery is pioneering the intersection of traditional whiskey craftsmanship and
blockchain governance. We're building a first-of-its-kind platform on Stacks blockchain that
enables token holders to participate in real whiskey barrel management decisions through
decentralized governance, secured by Bitcoin.

Role Overview
Join our technical team as we build groundbreaking blockchain infrastructure for whiskey barrel
governance. You'll work directly with our Lead Blockchain Developer to support smart contract
development, testing, and documentation while building deep expertise in Stacks/Clarity and
decentralized systems.

Location: Remote
Reports to: Lead Blockchain Developer
Compensation: Salary + equity/token allocation
Timeline: Month 2-3 hire for 6-month initial contract with full-time conversion potential

Core Responsibilities
Development Support (50%)
• Write and maintain comprehensive test suites for smart contracts
• Implement minor features and bug fixes under Lead Developer guidance
• Assist with contract deployment scripts and automation
• Support integration testing with front-end components (when applicable)

Documentation & Quality Assurance (30%)
• Create and maintain technical documentation for all smart contracts
• Document testing procedures and regression test cases
• Write developer guides for contract interaction patterns
• Support audit preparation with code documentation

Learning & Growth (20%)
• Master Clarity language and Stacks blockchain fundamentals
• Study smart contract security patterns and common vulnerabilities
• Learn DAO governance mechanisms and DeFi primitives
• Develop increasing independence in code contributions

Required Qualifications
Technical Foundation
• 1-2 years professional software development experience (any language)
• Strong programming fundamentals and problem-solving skills
• Understanding of version control (Git) and collaborative development
• Basic understanding of blockchain concepts and distributed systems
• Ability to read and understand smart contract code

Professional Skills
• Enthusiastic self-learner comfortable with new technologies
• Strong attention to detail for security-critical code
• Good written communication for documentation
• Comfortable asking questions and seeking guidance
• Excited about blockchain technology and decentralized systems

Preferred Qualifications
• Any blockchain development experience (Ethereum, Stacks, etc.)
• Computer Science degree or equivalent
• Experience with testing frameworks and test-driven development
• Familiarity with TypeScript/JavaScript for integration work
• Personal blockchain projects or contributions to Web3 open source

Success Metrics - First 6 Months
Month 1 (Month 3-4 of overall project)
• Stacks development environment fully configured
• Completed Clarity language tutorials and exercises
• First test suite contribution merged to codebase

Month 2
• Independently writing test cases for new features
• Supporting deployment script development
• Contributing to technical documentation

Month 3
• Implementing minor smart contract features independently
• Actively participating in code reviews
• Identifying and documenting edge cases

Month 4
• Supporting mainnet preparation activities
• Documentation quality improving code review process
• Growing proficiency in Clarity and Stacks ecosystem

Month 5-6
• Taking ownership of specific contract modules or features
• Contributing to architectural discussions
• Ready for increased responsibility post-mainnet launch
