JOB OVERVIEW

We're a wedding photography and videography studio based in Vancouver, BC looking for a creative video editor to help us produce Instagram Reels from raw iPhone footage.

What the job looks like

You'll be given raw footage — iPhone clips, behind-the-scenes ---------- nts, wedding highlights, or talking-to-camera videos — and your job is to turn them into clean, engaging 15–60 second Instagram Reels that are ready to post. We have a consistent flow of content, so there's plenty of ongoing work.

We're not looking for color grading or advanced post-production. We're looking for someone who understands pacing, social media content, storytelling, and and the nuances and unique aspects of editting for social media to create engaging clips. I’m looking for someone who knows how to add text on screen, use trending audio, and apply different audio effects to add depth and texture to a clip to make it more interesting and feel more polished.

One major part of your job will be to create a story out of a series of clips that were given to you. Often times, these clips are shot throughout the day or throughout a project, and it's your job to cut and edit them into a cohesive storyline.

What we're looking for

Comfortable working in CapCut or other professional/ semi-professional editting software
Strong eye for pacing, visual flow, and storytelling
Experience editing wedding or lifestyle content for Instagram, ideally in the North American or Australian market
Someone who has enough digital storage on their device or SSD to handle multiple projects at once
Can produce clean, aesthetic results with minimal direction
Detail-oriented without needing hand-holding

What we're not looking for
Someone who produces generic-looking Instagram videos that could belong to any account. We're not looking for cheesy transitions, immature edits, or content that feels templated. And we're not looking for heavy color grading, complex motion graphics, or advanced post-production. This role is about speed, consistency, subtle addittions and simplicity, refined aesthetics, and good taste — the editing should feel invisible, not showy. We don’t need help managing our social media or designing a content plan. We’re looking for someone to take our raw footage and turn it into social media posts.

Pay

$7 CAD per completed Reel. Some will take a few minutes, some a little longer — the rate is fixed regardless.
We'll start with a paid working interview where we'll walk you through our expectations and have you complete a test Reel so we can see how you work.
