JOB OVERVIEW

Instagram Publishing Assistant (Remote, Contract)
Company: lowk — anonymous school polls app for US high schoolers Location: Fully remote. Type: Contract, 10 hrs/week to start. Scales with the number of accounts.

The job in one line
You build 10 high school Instagram accounts by finding schools with around a ---------- high school student population and getting the follower count to at least 100.

What you'll do
You'll take 10 lowk school Instagram accounts from zero to a follower base that mirrors the actual student body of each assigned high school, targeting 20% of enrollment followed per account before that account goes public. The core loop is sourcing and following students who have that school named in their bio, and your job is knowing where those students cluster: start with the school's hub accounts — ASB/student government, class-of accounts ---------- 2028), varsity and JV sports teams, cheer, dance, band, drama, and club accounts — and work systematically through their followers, tagged posts, and follow-backs. From there, mine comment sections: the students commenting on a classmate's post are almost always at the same school, and threading through 5–10 comment sections surfaces entire friend groups faster than follower lists do. Every follow must clear two checks before you hit the button — (1) the bio explicitly names the target high school, and (2) the account belongs to a current high school student, meaning any bio with a college name, a committed-to school, a passed graduation year, or a "c/o" year earlier than this one is skipped, not followed. Equally important is account survival: you are responsible for keeping all 10 accounts unrestricted, which means working inside strict daily follow ceilings, warming new accounts before scaling, spacing actions instead of bursting, and stopping cold on any account that throws an action block rather than pushing through it. You'll log daily follows, follow-back rate, and any restriction events per account in the master sheet, and flag schools where the sourcing pool runs dry before the 20% target.

You will name each account “(school)polls”, either an abbreviated version like “shspolls” or the whole thing like “santiagopolls” depending on availability. You will attach a given bio copy and paste it as the bio of each account, make sure it’s private (super important), and place the school logo on the profile picture.
Core objective: You will keep track of the numbers on a simple spreadsheet. Look for 10 southern California high schools, each with a student population of about ---------- . Get the follower request count to at least 100 on all accounts.
Rules of thumb (non-negotiable):
Warm-up: new account = 80 is the absolute max number of follows you should do on day 1, spread across two different times (40 in the morning, 40 at night for instance), 100 the next day with the same split. Follow at least 5 school based accounts (the school itself, the school’s student council/news, any basketball/volleyball/football teams, etc). Never mass-follow on a fresh account, this will lead to restrictions in following. If this happens, it’ll take even longer to reach the goal.
Blocked = stop: action block means 24–48 hours of zero activity on that account. Do not follow or do anything on that account and move onto the next if restrictions happen. Ensure to tell Cayden, and get back to the account after 2-48 hours have past. Retrying through a block escalates it to a longer or permanent restriction.
No third-party automation tools ever.
No churn: never unfollow to inflate ratio. Follow/unfollow cycling is the single fastest path to a permanent block.
