About the Role
M.D. Home Health, LLC, a Medicare/Medicaid-certified home health agency licensed by AHCA, is seeking a Remote Administrative Assistant with prior healthcare experience to support our Executive Director.
This position is ideal for someone who has worked in a medical office, home health agency, or insurance coordination setting and understands patient charting, authorizations, and plan of care management.
If you’ve ever completed, reviewed, or uploaded skilled nursing notes, Plans of Care (POCs), or therapy documents, this role will feel familiar.
Key Responsibilities
Review and manage open patient chart notes based on visit frequency and payer requirements.
Upload physician orders, labs, and skilled nursing documentation to the EMR (Netsmart Devero).
Notify the Executive Director immediately when critical lab results are received.
Maintain and update the Outlook scheduling calendar for visit frequency and recertifications.
Obtain authorizations through CareCentrix, WellSky, or payer portals in a timely manner.
Fax and track Plans of Care (POCs) and ensure signed documents are returned from physician offices.
Monitor and communicate recertification OASIS due dates with clinicians.
Maintain logs of authorizations, labs, and returned POCs for compliance tracking.
Protect all patient information in accordance with HIPAA and company policy.
Qualifications
Required Experience
1–2 years of home health, medical billing, or healthcare administrative experience.
Familiarity with EMRs such as Devero, WellSky, Alora, or similar systems.
Understanding of Plan of Care (POC) documentation, skilled nursing notes, or OASIS.
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams.
Excellent written and verbal English communication.
Reliable internet and a quiet, professional workspace.
Preferred Experience
Prior work with CareCentrix, WellSky, or other insurance authorization portals.
Knowledge of CMS, Medicare, or Medicaid home health documentation standards.
Schedule & Compensation
Must be available during the hours of Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM EST
Pay: $6.53 per hour
