Senior DTC eCommerce Video Editor
Remote | Full-Time | UGC, AI Video & Motion Graphics | Meta Ads
About Growing Pains Marketing
Growing Pains Marketing is a performance marketing agency that helps DTC eCommerce brands scale through paid social, creative strategy, and direct-response advertising.
We specialize in Meta ads and frequently work with brands in competitive and compliance-sensitive categories, including wellness, supplements, CBD and THC-adjacent products, telemedicine, research compounds, and other restricted markets.
We are hiring a highly skilled video editor who can turn scripts, creative briefs, raw footage, product assets, and AI-generated content into polished advertisements designed to drive purchases.
This is not a basic clip-cutting position.
We need an editor who understands why an advertisement works, how to capture attention within the first three seconds, how to maintain viewer interest, and how to make AI-generated content look and sound believable.
What You Will Create
You will produce short-form advertisements for Meta, TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and similar platforms.
Your work may include:
Direct-response video ads
Authentic UGC-style ads
AI spokesperson and talking-head videos
AI-generated B-roll
Product demonstrations
Testimonials and review-style ads
Listicles and comparison ads
Motion-graphics ads
New hooks and creative variations
You will work across multiple DTC eCommerce brands with different products, audiences, offers, and visual identities.
You will collaborate with creative strategists, media buyers, designers, UGC creators, and agency leadership.
Core Responsibilities
Direct-Response Editing
Turn scripts and creative briefs into clear, persuasive advertisements.
Create hooks that capture attention within the first one to three seconds.
Structure videos around customer problems, desires, objections, benefits, proof, offers, and calls to action.
Use pacing, captions, B-roll, visual changes, pattern interrupts, sound design, and motion graphics to maintain attention.
Create meaningful variations instead of only changing fonts, colors, or music.
Edit for purchases and conversions, not views alone.
UGC Editing
Turn raw creator footage into authentic, natural-looking advertisements.
Remove pauses, mistakes, weak lines, and unnecessary sections without making the creator sound unnatural.
Improve footage with slow delivery, poor framing, limited B-roll, or inconsistent audio.
Add relevant product footage, screenshots, reviews, visual proof, captions, and graphics.
Understand when UGC should feel polished and when it should remain casual or imperfect.
AI Video Production
Create believable AI spokesperson and presenter videos.
Generate visually consistent AI B-roll that supports the script.
Create AI voices that sound natural, conversational, and emotionally appropriate.
Correct unnatural pacing, pauses, pronunciation, emphasis, and delivery.
Identify and fix visible AI issues involving lip movement, faces, hands, objects, backgrounds, and scene consistency.
Maintain consistency between generated characters, products, environments, and branding.
Motion Graphics, Captions and Sound Design
Create motion graphics that improve clarity and retention.
Animate hooks, benefits, reviews, offers, statistics, and calls to action.
Create readable, mobile-first captions with a clear visual hierarchy.
Follow each brand’s fonts, colors, and design standards.
Clean and balance dialogue audio.
Mix voice, music, and sound effects appropriately.
Use transitions and effects intentionally without creating unnecessary visual clutter.
Brand and Compliance Accuracy
Follow creative briefs and brand guidelines precisely.
Use approved logos, packaging, product images, fonts, colors, and claims.
Avoid introducing unapproved medical, health, financial, performance, or product claims.
Flag potential compliance concerns before submitting creative.
Check every video for spelling, grammar, punctuation, product accuracy, and safe-area placement.
Ensure the advertisement matches the product, offer, and landing page.
Agency Workflow
Manage projects across multiple client accounts and deadlines.
Follow naming conventions, folder structures, and project-management processes.
Maintain organized project files that another editor can easily open and revise.
Submit editable source files with completed work.
Communicate blockers and deadline risks before they become problems.
Complete revisions quickly without repeating previous mistakes.
Provide clear beginning-of-day and end-of-day updates.
Record Loom videos when needed to explain your work or creative decisions.
Required Experience
You must have:
Professional video-editing experience.
Experience creating direct-response ads for DTC eCommerce brands.
