JOB OVERVIEW

We are looking for an HR Manager to join our growing team. This is a full-time, salary-based position for someone who is looking for stability and a role they can grow with over the years.

About Us
Forterra Pest Control is a family-owned pest control company in Dallas, Texas, USA. We are growing and are looking to bring on an HR professional who will help us achieve our goals by being a workplace that finds, develops and retains great people.

This is not an assistant role. This will be the first official HR hire and we are looking for someone that can come in and help be a business partner.

What You'll Do
Retention and culture: Run exit interviews and pulse surveys, find out why people leave, and bring us real recommendations to fix it.
Onboarding: Build and run a proper onboarding program so new hires succeed instead of quitting in month two.
Process and documentation: Ensure our employee handbook, job descriptions, policies, and SOPs are complete and up-to-date.
Recruiting: Write job posts, screen resumes, run screening calls, administer DISC profiles, coordinate interviews, prepare offer letters.
Performance management support: Coach our managers through performance conversations, draft write-ups and documentation, keep records clean.
Payroll preparation: Calculate payroll in Gusto and stage it in a Google Sheet for the owner's review and submission. (You prepare; the owner submits. You will not have payment authority.)
Compliance: Keep personnel files complete and audit-ready, flag legal issues early and escalate them as needed
Internal communication: Keep the team informed and connected.

What We're Looking For
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field
- 3+ years of HR generalist experience
- Experience supporting a US-based company and familiarity with US HR practices
- Excellent written English — you'll be writing policies and documentation that US employees read
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Absolute discretion with confidential information: this role sees compensation data and performance issues
- Reliable computer, backup power, and a stable internet connection (with a backup)

Hours:
US Hours, Monday - Friday
