About the Role
We are looking for a hands-on HR Generalist who thrives in a startup environment and is excited to help build the HR function from the ground up. This role goes beyond day-to-day HR support — you will play a key role in setting up foundational HR processes, shaping people practices, and supporting the growth of our teams as the company scales.

While the team currently operates in a distributed setup, the role is designed to support both remote and future on-site tea
You will work closely with the HR and Talent Acquisition Manager and the COO to establish strong HR frameworks, ensure compliance, and deliver a positive tea
Your Responsibilities
** Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
- Manage full-cycle recruitment especially for finance and accounting roles, including Bookkeepers, Senior Bookkeepers, Accountants, and related positions.
- Source, screen, and interview candidates across the U.S. and the Philippines.
- Partner with hiring managers to clarify role needs and support workforce planning as teams grow.
- Build and continuously improve recruitment processes suitable for a startup environment.
- Coordinate interviews, reference checks, and offer processes.
- Maintain the applicant tracking system and ensure a smooth, professional candidate experience.
**HR Setup, Processes & Administration
- Help build and formalize HR processes, policies, and documentation from the ground up.
- Manage onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and a strong first and last experience for tea
- Maintain and update HR records, templates, and internal guidelines as the company scales.
- Handle HR-related requests, documentation, and internal communications.
**Tea
- Serve as the primary point of contact for tea
- Administer benefits programs, including paid time off, leave requests, and other people-related benefits.
- Support a positive, respectful, and compliant work environment for both remote and on-site tea
**Performance, Growth & Talent Development
- Coordinate performance review cycles and support the rollout of feedback and development frameworks.
- Partner with leaders to provide guidance on coaching, performance conversations, and growth planning.
- Support career development and internal mobility initiatives as teams expand.
**Process Improvement & HR Partnership
- Identify opportunities to streamline, automate, and improve HR workflows.
- Support HR system implementation and enhancements.
- Act as a strategic HR partner to leadership, offering people insights and recommendations as the organization grows.
Your Skills & Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience as an HR Generalist or in a similar HR role.
- Proven experience managing both contractor and employee relationships, particularly within the U.S.
- Hands-on experience in full-cycle recruitment across the U.S. and the Philippines.
- Proven success in recruiting for finance and accounting roles.
- Solid understanding of U.S. labor laws and HR compliance, including contractor-based models.
- Comfortable working in a startup or fast-growth environment where processes are being built and refined.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic and evolving environment.
