Role Overview
House Washing Experts is seeking an experienced HR Consultant / HR Representative to support our small but growing trade services business. This role is ideal for a Philippines-based HR professional with strong knowledge of Australian employment law, modern awards, and Fair Work requirements.
The position is remote, retainer-based, and requires approximately 1–2 hours per week, with flexibility depending on business needs.
Key Responsibilities
HR Compliance & Advisory
Provide ongoing HR advice aligned with Australian employment law and Fair Work Ombudsman guidelines
Ensure compliance with relevant Modern Awards, NES, and workplace legislation
Advise on contractor vs employee classifications (particularly for trade/service workers)
Policies & Documentation
Draft, review, and update HR policies and procedures
Prepare and maintain employment contracts, contractor agreements, and role descriptions
Assist with onboarding and offboarding documentation
Employee Relations
Provide guidance on performance management, disciplinary processes, and terminations
Advise on leave entitlements, pay issues, and workplace conduct matters
Support fair and legally compliant resolution of employee issues
Business Support
Act as the point of contact for HR-related queries from management
Proactively identify HR risks and recommend practical solutions suitable for a small business
Keep management informed of relevant changes in Australian workplace law
Required Skills & Experience
Essential
Proven experience in Human Resources
Strong working knowledge of Australian employment law and Fair Work regulations
Experience supporting small businesses or trade/service-based companies
Excellent written and spoken English
Ability to work independently and provide clear, practical advice
Reliable internet connection and availability for occasional meetings during Australian business hours
Highly Desirable
Experience working remotely with Australian companies
Familiarity with Queensland-specific employment considerations
Background in HR consulting or retainer-based roles
Experience handling contractor-heavy or field-based workforces
Work Arrangement & Compensation
Remote position (Philippines-based preferred)
Retainer basis, approximately 1–2 hours per week
Long-term ongoing relationship
Compensation to be discussed based on experience and qualifications

Reports directly to the Business Owner / Director
