JOB OVERVIEW

I’m looking for a highly skilled YouTube video editor to work with me on an ongoing basis creating professional, highly engaging long-form YouTube content for my personal brand.

I’m not looking for basic cuts, captions or template-style editing.

I want someone who understands YouTube retention, storytelling, pacing and motion graphics and knows how to turn raw talking-head footage into a video that keeps people watching.

I’ll provide the raw footage, script and any specific direction needed. You’ll be responsible for bringing the video to life through the edit.

THE STYLE I'M LOOKING FOR

The content will mainly be around:

Money and finance
Investing and trading
Business
Mindset and self-development
Educational / documentary-style personal brand content

Most videos will be talking-head/scripted videos, but I want the editing to make them feel visually engaging throughout.

This means combining the main footage with B-roll, motion graphics, animations, visual examples, screenshots, charts, text and other creative elements rather than simply cutting between camera angles.

WHAT I NEED

You need to be VERY good at YouTube editing and understand what actually keeps viewers watching.

I'm looking for someone capable of:

Creating extremely engaging openings in the first 30–60 seconds
Strong pacing and removing unnecessary dead space
High-quality motion graphics and animations
Animated text and typography
Creative B-roll selection and placement
Visual storytelling that supports what I'm saying
Charts, graphs, numbers and financial concepts presented visually
Screenshots, websites and social media posts incorporated professionally
Pattern interrupts to maintain attention
Punch-ins, reframing and camera movement
Sound design and subtle sound effects
Music selection and audio mixing
Professional colour correction and grading
Clean transitions that don't feel overdone
Knowing when to make an edit visually intense and when to keep it simple
Creating a polished, premium final product

Most importantly, you need to understand viewer retention.

I don't want random effects added just for the sake of making the screen busy. Every B-roll clip, animation, graphic or transition should help tell the story, explain the point or keep the viewer engaged.

QUALITY REFERENCES

These are examples of the level and style of editing I'm looking for.

You do NOT need to copy these creators exactly. These are simply references so you understand the quality standard I'm expecting.

Please watch these before applying.

If you aren't confident you can produce work at or close to this standard, please don't apply.

ONGOING WORK

This is not a one-off project.

I'm building my YouTube channel seriously and want to find an editor I can work with consistently long-term.

There will be regular videos available for the right person, and potentially significantly more work as the channel grows.

You need to be:

Reliable
Responsive
Consistent
Able to follow direction
Creative enough to make editing decisions yourself
Capable of meeting agreed deadlines
Open to feedback and revisions

I'm looking for someone who can eventually understand my content and editing style well enough that I don't need to explain every little detail on every video.

TO APPLY

Please send me:

Your best 3–5 YouTube videos you've edited — only send your BEST work.
Examples that specifically demonstrate motion graphics, storytelling and high-retention editing.
Any finance, business, educational or personal-brand content you've edited.
Your usual turnaround time for a full YouTube video.
How many long-form videos you can realistically edit per week.
Your price per video and/or ongoing monthly rate.
What editing software you use.
Whether you personally complete the edits or work with a team.
A short explanation of how you approach viewer retention when editing a YouTube video.

IMPORTANT: Please don't send me a huge portfolio of average work.

I'd rather see 3 incredible videos than 30 average ones.

Please don't apply if you're still learning, mainly use templates, or only have basic editing experience.

I'm looking for a genuinely high-level YouTube editor who understands modern YouTube content and can help me build a premium channel over the long term.
