Graphic Artist & Illustrator – Job Description
Position Type: Full-Time or Part-Time
Location: Remote or On-Site (EST collaboration required)
Reports To: Creative Director
About the Role
We are seeking a talented and creative Graphic Artist & Illustrator with strong design skills and proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and related tools. The ideal candidate will have experience designing for children’s books, educational materials, digital assets, and print media, and demonstrate a keen eye for detail, color, composition, and storytelling through visuals.
Key Responsibilities
Create original illustrations and graphics for children’s books, story layouts, worksheets, and marketing materials.
Design and format print-ready and digital book files using Adobe InDesign.
Develop visual assets for social media, video projects, product branding, and presentations.
Conceptualize and execute art direction based on scripts, storyboards, and creative briefs.
Collaborate with the creative team to maintain consistent brand identity and visual style across projects.
Prepare files for production, publishing platforms, and digital distribution.
Revise and refine artwork based on feedback in a timely and professional manner.
Maintain organized project files and adhere to version control and naming conventions.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Graphic Designer, Illustrator, or Layout Artist, preferably in children’s media or publishing.
Advanced proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
Strong illustration skills (digital drawing, character design, playful and clean style preferred).
Ability to format and export high-quality print and digital files.
Understanding of typography, layout composition, and color theory.
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced creative environment.
Bonus Skills (Not Required but a Plus):
Experience with Adobe Animate, After Effects, Premiere Pro, or Canva.
Knowledge of 2D/3D animation or motion graphics.
Experience in educational content or children’s publishing.
