Graphic Design & Creative Operations Manager
Reports to: Sales Administration & Operations Manager, with direct collaboration with the President and Internet leadership
Location: Remote
Schedule: Full-time with substantial overlap with Pacific Time (graveyard shift experience is a must)
Position overview
Alpine Corporation is seeking a highly skilled, hands-on Graphic Design & Creative Operations Manager to lead and execute creative production across product content, packaging, catalogs, retailer presentations, marketplaces, and sales materials.
This is not a position for someone who only delegates creative work. The successful candidate must be an accomplished designer who can personally complete high-priority projects while also organizing the department’s workflow, files, approvals, deadlines, and outside resources.
The role requires strong creative judgment, exceptional organization, urgency, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving consumer-products business.
Primary responsibilities
Hands-on graphic design
Personally design and produce product silo images, lifestyle images, enhanced content, packaging, displays, catalogs, sales presentations, sell sheets, digital banners, and retailer-specific materials.
Retouch product images while maintaining accurate product colors, finishes, proportions, and details.
Prepare high-resolution JPEG, PNG, PSD, AI, INDD, and print-ready files as required.
Review all creative work for accuracy, consistency, quality, and compliance before submission for approval.
Build reusable templates that improve speed and consistency.
Creative project management
Maintain one complete project tracker showing every active request, owner, priority, due date, approval stage, status, and blocker.
Establish realistic turnaround times and communicate immediately when deadlines are at risk.
Separate genuine urgent requests from routine work and manage priorities accordingly.
Conduct regular status reviews with Sales Administration, Internet, Product Development, and leadership.
Ensure projects are completed on time and do not disappear between departments.
Approval and quality control
Ensure no artwork, content, or imagery is distributed without the required approval.
Maintain clear approval stages for silo images, lifestyle images, enhanced content, packaging, catalogs, and other creative assets.
Confirm that revisions are accurately incorporated before final release.
Create and maintain creative checklists and standard operating procedures.
File and asset management
Store all Alpine creative assets in approved shared company drives.
Establish and enforce organized folder structures, file-naming conventions, version control, and archive procedures.
Ensure completed files can be located immediately by authorized Alpine employees.
Eliminate reliance on personal computers, personal cloud storage, or individual OneDrive folders as the sole location of company assets.
Maintain editable source files together with final approved versions.
Team and contractor coordination
Coordinate internal designers, part-time resources, freelancers, and outside contractors.
Assign work based on skill, workload, priority, and availability.
Review work before it reaches Alpine management.
Train designers on Alpine standards, templates, products, and approval procedures.
Identify capacity gaps early and recommend additional resources when justified.
Cross-functional execution
Work closely with Sales Administration, Internet, Product Development, China, Sales, and Marketing.
Understand retailer-specific requirements for Amazon, Home Depot, Lowe’s, Wayfair, Walmart, Target, Ace, and other customers.
Support new-product launches by ensuring imagery, copy-support assets, packaging, and retailer materials are completed before inventory arrives.
Communicate proactively and participate in video meetings during Alpine working hours.
*Required qualifications
At least 5 years of professional graphic-design experience, preferably in consumer products, retail, e-commerce, packaging, home décor, seasonal products, or a related industry.
Strong portfolio demonstrating packaging, product imagery, catalogs, digital marketplace content, and print materials.
Advanced proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
Strong photo-retouching, image-compositing, clipping-path, color-correction, and production-art skills.
Experience preparing files for both digital use and commercial printing.
Demonstrated project-management and file-management discipline.
Ability to personally execute work while also coordinating other creative resources.
Excellent written and spoken English.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
Availability for substantial Pacific Time overlap.
