Grant & Sales Coordinator (Virtual Assistant) for a Small Business Training Program
About us
Skayle 360 runs SCALE UP, a live, 10-week growth training program for small businesses, taught on Zoom by founder Chris Ciunci (SBA Small Businessperson of the Year). We've trained 300+ executives from 175+ Massachusetts small businesses, and graduates rate the program 9.8 out of 10. Most Massachusetts companies can have the full $15,000 cost reimbursed through the state's Workforce Training Fund Express Grant.
The role
I handle the first sales call. You take it from there: guide interested companies through the state paperwork, get them ready to apply, and book them to submit their grant application. When that work is done, you re-engage past prospects and book new calls on my calendar. Full training, scripts and templates are provided.
What you'll do, in order of priority
1. Get interested companies application-ready (your top priority)
- Guide prospects through our Grant Prep page (
- Review each certificate for common problems and help solve them (e.g., wrong employee count, payroll provider issues, portal access)
- Follow up by phone and
- Book and run a 20-minute Zoom session to complete the Express Grant application with the prospect
2. Re-engage warm leads
- Call and
3. Cold outreach (when 1 and 2 are covered)
- Call Massachusetts small businesses, briefly introduce SCALE UP, and book qualified calls with me
Every day, you'll keep our Brevo CRM up to date: deal stages, notes, tasks and follow-up dates, so no prospect falls through the cracks.
You're a great fit if you
- Speak fluent, native-level English: clear, natural and easily understood by U.S. business owners on the phone, with equally strong writing
- Have made outbound calls to business owners or executives (this is not an
- Have worked in a CRM (Brevo, HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, ActiveCampaign or similar)
- Are organized, persistent without being pushy, and good at solving problems on your own
- Are comfortable learning government websites and walking someone through them on Zoom
Tools: Brevo, Zoom, Calendly, VoIP calling software, Google Workspace or Microsoft Office, and Massachusetts state portals (DUA, MassTaxConnect, Express Grant). No experience with the state systems is needed; I'll train you.
You'll need: a reliable computer and internet, a quality headset, a quiet workspace, and a professional VoIP calling tool (or willingness to use ours).
How success is measured
1. Companies you move from my sales call to a submitted Express Grant application
2. Past prospects you re-engage and book back onto my calendar
3. New qualified calls you book through cold outreach
Schedule and pay
Part-time and hourly to start, with room to grow as lead volume increases. You'll need to work during U.S. Eastern business hours; calls happen between 10 AM and 3 PM ET.
To apply
Please review
1. Your experience moving clients or prospects through a multi-step process
2. Which CRMs you've used
3. Your experience calling business owners or executives
4. Which calling/VoIP tools you've used, and whether you have one now
5. A time you solved an administrative or tech problem for a client
6. Your availability during U.S. Eastern hours
7. Your hourly rate
8. After reviewing
Please also attach a 60 to 90 second voice recording or Loom introducing yourself, as if you were calling a Massachusetts business owner for the first time. Clear, natural spoken English is essential for this role.
I'm looking for someone who wants to own this part of the business over time, not just complete tasks. If you enjoy taking a complicated process and getting people across the finish line, I'd like to hear from you.
