Schedule: 5:00 PM PST, 1-hour session per day (Monday - Thursday)
Job Description:
We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Grade 5 Math Tutor to work with a 10-year-old student. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Grade 5 math concepts, including arithmetic, fractions, decimals, geometry, and introductory algebra.
The tutor will be responsible for helping the student improve their math skills by explaining concepts, providing practice problems, and supporting their overall academic development.
Responsibilities:
Provide 1-hour tutoring sessions focused on Grade 5 math topics, Monday through Thursday.
Explain math concepts in a clear, patient, and engaging manner.
Assist with homework and practice problems.
Adapt teaching methods to fit the student’s learning style and pace.
Track progress and give feedback on performance.
Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment.
Requirements:
Experience tutoring math at the elementary school level (preferably Grade 5).
Strong knowledge of the U.S. Grade 5 Math Curriculum (arithmetic, fractions, decimals, geometry, and basic algebra).
Reliable and consistent availability for 1-hour sessions at 5:00 PM PST, Monday through Thursday.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with children.
A positive and patient attitude toward teaching.
Compensation:
Starting rate: $6/hour.
Rate increase to $7/hour after 30 days of successful tutoring.
