ABOUT US
We are a 9-person US marketing agency based near Seattle. We build websites and run SEO and Google Ads for local service businesses, mostly home services and trades: painters, roofers, HVAC, landscapers, concrete, fencing, electrical, flooring, remodelers. We have been doing this for years and our clients stay with us for years.
Right now one person manages our entire Google Ads book. That is 56 accounts under active weekly management, with 15 more being onboarded this quarter. He is good and he is out of hours. We are hiring someone to work alongside him so the accounts get the weekly attention they are paid for.
This is a long-term role, not a project. If it works, it grows.
WHAT YOU WOULD DO, IN ORDER OF HOW MUCH IT MATTERS TO US
1) WEEKLY ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT
Work a set of live Search accounts on a weekly rhythm. Mine search terms and build negatives. Watch performance against each account's goal and flag what is drifting. Adjust bids and targeting inside an agreed band. Pause losers, test new ad copy, keep ad groups clean. Catch disapprovals, policy notices and payment problems before the client does.
2) REPORTING
Pull and assemble the monthly performance data for each account you work. You build the numbers and the observations. Our manager writes the client narrative and presents it. This needs to be accurate and on time every month without being chased.
3) ACCOUNT AND CAMPAIGN BUILDS
Build new accounts and campaigns from a written spec: campaign and ad group structure, keywords and match types, geo and scheduling, budgets as instructed, ad copy drafted to a template. Built to a draft state for review, never turned on by you.
4) CONVERSION TRACKING
Set up and verify conversion tracking: Google Tag, Google Tag Manager, call tracking, form conversions, and importing offline or CRM conversions where the client has them. Verify with a real submission, not by confirming the tag is present.
WHAT YOU WOULD NOT DO
- No client contact of any kind. No email, no calls, no meetings, no name in a client thread. Our manager is the face on every account, every time. If you want a client-facing account manager seat, this is not that job, and we will not change our mind on it.
- No setting account strategy.
- No changing daily budgets, and no turning campaigns on or off, without sign-off.
- No publishing ads or launching campaigns yourself.
That is not a comment on your skill. It is how we keep one voice in front of the client.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU TO WORK INSIDE OUR SYSTEM
- Work is assigned and tracked in ClickUp. You will get a limited seat on the ads lists only. Every task gets a note on what you changed and why, in writing, in the task. We do not run this over chat messages that disappear.
- Your own Google account with 2FA on. We grant Standard access per client account as work is assigned. Never a shared login.
- We work from written playbooks. If the spec says build it a certain way, build it that way and raise the disagreement separately. Improvising on a client account is the one thing that ends this arrangement fast.
- Async first. We are in the US Pacific timezone, which is roughly 15 hours behind Manila. We do not expect you to work our hours. We do expect work to land when you said it would, and one live video check-in each week with our paid media manager at a time that works for both of you.
- Clear written English. You will be writing ad copy, task notes and reporting observations that our manager reads and acts on.
- Reliable internet and a machine that can run a browser with many tabs without falling over.
YOU NEED TO HAVE
- Hands-on Google Ads experience managing live Search accounts on an ongoing weekly basis, not just building them once. Tell us how long and how many.
- Real conversion tracking experience. You should be able to explain how you proved a conversion was recording, not just installed.
- Experience with lead generation accounts. Local service and home services experience is a strong plus. Ecommerce-only experience is not a fit for most of this book.
- Comfort pulling and assembling reporting data accurately, every month, without reminders.
- Google Ads certification is fine to mention but it is not what we are screening on.
NICE TO HAVE, NOT REQUIRED
- Google Tag Manager, GA4, and call tracking platforms (we use WhatConverts)
- Local Service Ads
- Google Shopping and Merchant Center
- Microsoft Ads
- Looker Studio
TERMS
- Part time to start, ongoing and long term, around 20 hours a week. Hours can grow if it works.
- 15 to 20 USD an hour depending on experience. The top of that range is for someone who can own conversion tracking setup as well as weekly management.
- We start with a paid trial on one real account, paid at your full rate whether or not we continue. No unpaid test work. Ever.
- Paid monthly by Wise or Payoneer, whichever you prefer.
HOW TO APPLY
Applications that skip this get deleted, and that is most of them. Put SEARCH TERMS in your subject line so we know you read this far.
Then answer these four, in writing, in your own words. Short and specific beats long and polished.
1) Describe two Google Ads accounts you managed on an ongoing weekly basis. What did you actually do in a typical week, and how did you d
2) Walk us through how you set up and verified conversion tracking on your last build. How did you know it was really recording?
3) An account stops converting overnight. Spend is normal. What do you check, and in what order?
4) You are handed a written build spec you disagree with. What do you do?
Attach one monthly report you have produced, with client names and numbers blacked out. We want to see how you present, not who you worked for.
