Role Purpose
The Google Ads Specialist is responsible for managing, optimising, and reporting on Google Ads campaigns to achieve client goals. This includes keyword research, ad copy creation, bid management, performance analysis, and conversion tracking. The role ensures campaigns are executed with precision, delivering measurable results while contributing to internal team efficiency and client satisfaction.
Work of the Role
- Setting up, managing, and optimising Google Ads campaigns (Search, Display, Performance Max, YouTube, etc.) to meet performance targets.
- Conducting keyword research and audience targeting to ensure maximum campaign effectiveness.
- Writing compelling ad copy and creating variations for A/B testing.
- Monitoring campaign performance daily, identifying issues or opportunities, and implementing data-driven optimisations.
- Managing conversion tracking setups, including Google Tag Manager, to ensure accurate measurement and reporting.
- Preparing regular performance reports with insights and recommendations for improvement.
- Coordinating with internal teams to ensure campaigns align with overall marketing and business strategies.
- Maintaining organised campaign records, tracking time accurately, and meeting deadlines.
- Proactively suggesting improvements to processes, strategies, and account structures to boost ROI.
Outcomes and Measures
- Campaigns set up and launched accurately, on time, and following best practices.
- Performance metrics (CTR, CPC, ROAS, Conversion Rate) consistently meet or exceed client goals.
- Conversion tracking implemented correctly, with minimal discrepancies.
- Regular performance reports delivered on schedule, with actionable insights.
- Positive client feedback on campaign results and communication.
- Continuous optimisation efforts demonstrated through documented tests, iterations, and improvements.
Skills and Requirements
- 1–2 years of experience managing Google Ads campaigns (Search & Display required; Performance Max and YouTube are a plus).
- Proven track record of improving campaign performance through data-driven optimisation.
- Familiarity with Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics for conversion tracking.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to draw insights from data.
- Excellent attention to detail in campaign setup and reporting.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, able to handle multiple accounts or campaigns simultaneously.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with a collaborative and proactive approach.
- Google Ads certification is an advantage but not required.
