We are looking for a Google Ads Search specialist who understands:

What You'll Do
You will own Google Ads end to end — from campaign build to weekly optimisation to monthly reporting — across multiple local service clients in Australia.
This is a fast-paced, systemised environment. We have documented SOPs for every phase of Google Ads delivery. You are expected to follow them precisely while also thinking critically about what each client needs. Speed matters — campaigns need to be built correctly and launched on tight timelines without compromising quality.
Build Search campaigns from scratch following our 8-phase Campaign Build SOP — client brief, keyword research, campaign structure, conversion tracking, ad copy, landing page verification, campaign settings, pre-launch review
Complete our 118-point Pre-Launch Checklist before every campaign goes live — no exceptions
Install and verify conversion tracking via Google Tag Manager before any campaign launches — phone calls, form submissions, and bookings
Write high-converting RSA ad copy for local service businesses — minimum 3 RSAs per ad group, 10+ headlines each, ad strength Good or Excellent
Set up and manage all ad extensions — call, sitelinks, callouts, structured snippets, images, location
Configure campaign settings correctly — Presence-only location targeting, Display Network off, Search Partners off, auto-apply recommendations disabled, Manual CPC for new accounts
Run structured weekly optimisation sessions — search terms, negative keywords, keyword bids, RSA asset performance, budget pacing, impression share, landing page CVR
Run monthly reviews — Quality Score deep dive, audience insights, extension performance, bidding strategy review
Run quarterly account audits — full structure review, keyword strategy, competitive landscape, tracking verification
Work with our 20 automated monitoring scripts that run daily — review the morning digest, action all critical and warning alerts same day
Build and verify landing pages in GoHighLevel (or verify existing landing pages) — message match, mobile speed, form testing, conversion tag installation
Report clearly on performance — CPA vs target, lead volume, what changed, what is planned next
Must-Have Experience (Non-Negotiable)
Proven experience building and managing Google Ads Search campaigns for local service businesses (trades, health, fitness, legal, real estate, automotive, or similar)
Strong understanding of conversion tracking — you can install tags via GTM, test them, verify them in Google Ads, and troubleshoot when tracking breaks
Experience with keyword research and intent-based campaign structure — you know the difference between transactional, commercial, and informational intent and you build ad groups around tight keyword themes
Experience writing RSA ad copy that converts — not just high CTR, but qualified leads
Understanding of bidding strategy progression — Manual CPC for new accounts, when to move to Maximise Conversions, when Target CPA is appropriate, and why you never switch with less than 30 conversions per month
Strong negative keyword management — you proactively review search terms and maintain negative keyword lists
Ability to analyse performance beyond CPC — you think in terms of CPA, CVR, lead quality, impression share, and Quality Score
Experience managing multiple client accounts simultaneously
Ability to follow structured SOPs and checklists while still applying judgment — you work within a system, not around it
Ability to work fast under pressure without cutting corners — campaigns need to be built right and launched on time
If your Google Ads experience is only Display, Shopping, or Performance Max — this is not the right fit.
If you have only managed one account or only worked on large national brands — this is not the right fit.
Nice to Have (Optional)
Experience with Google Ads Scripts — we run 20 automated monitoring scripts across all client accounts and you may be involved in maintaining or configuring them
Experience with GoHighLevel (GHL) — landing pages, funnels, form setup, CRM pipeline connection
Experience with Google Tag Manager beyond basic tag installation — event tracking, custom triggers, debugging
Understanding of Google Analytics 4 — conversion events, organic vs paid attribution, audience creation
Experience building landing pages for local lead gen — message match, mobile-first design, form optimisation, speed testing
Familiarity with n8n or automation workflows — our monitoring scripts post to n8n which routes alerts to the team
Experience with Australian local service businesses specifically
