JOB OVERVIEW

Makarios Marketing — Remote

About the Role
Makarios Marketing is an SEO agency expanding into paid media for our local service clients. We're hiring a Google Ads Manager to take full, end-to-end ownership of paid ads across our client accounts — building campaigns, auditing what's already running, and managing monthly performance with real accountability for the money being spent.

This is not an execution-only role. You will own the strategy, the day-to-day management, and the communication back to us and to clients about what's working, what isn't, and what needs to change. You'll have access to an expert Google Ads contractor for roughly 8 hours a month for the highest-stakes decisions or second opinions — but the accounts are yours to run.

What You'll Own
Account Build & Audit

Build new Google Ads accounts and campaigns from scratch for clients adding paid media to their SEO program
Audit existing client ad accounts — identify wasted spend, broken conversion tracking, poor targeting, weak ad copy, and structural issues
Set up proper conversion tracking so every dollar spent can be tied to a real result (calls, form fills, bookings)
LOCAL CLIENTS MOSTLY, some ecom

Monthly Management & Optimization

Manage budgets and bid strategy across all client accounts on an ongoing basis
Monitor performance daily/weekly and make adjustments — pausing underperforming keywords or ads, reallocating budget toward what converts, adjusting targeting
Run Local Service Ads (LSA) for clients where it makes sense as a secondary channel alongside Search and Performance Max

Communication & Reporting

Clearly communicate to the team and to clients what's right, what's wrong, what's missing, and what needs to improve in each account — in plain language, not just jargon and screenshots
Produce monthly performance reports tying ad spend directly to leads, calls, and revenue impact
Flag risk early — if a budget is pacing wrong or a campaign is underperforming, we hear about it before it becomes a bigger problem

Strategic Budget Ownership

Responsibly manage real client ad spend — this role carries direct accountability for driving strong ROAS, not just "keeping campaigns running"
Know when something is within your judgment to fix immediately, and when to escalate to our Google Ads contractor for expert input
Continuously look for opportunities to scale spend profitably as accounts prove out

What We Need From You

Proven, hands-on experience managing Google Ads accounts for real clients — not just a certification, actual campaigns you've built and managed
Strong understanding of Search campaigns and Performance Max; Local Service Ads experience is a bonus, not required
Experience managing meaningful ad budgets with real accountability for results
Comfortable auditing someone else's account and clearly identifying what's wrong and how to fix it
Strong communication skills — able to explain ad performance in terms a non-technical business owner understands
Detail-oriented with conversion tracking, UTM parameters, and tying spend to actual business outcomes
Self-directed — you should be able to run your accounts without needing daily oversight
Comfortable working US business hours for client and team communication

Bonus
Work on ecommerce clients on google ads

Facebook
ads for local contractor or agencies like ours

Schedule & Pay

Hours: Full-time, 40 hours/week
Base Pay: $1,500–$1700/month, based on experience
Bonuses for: client retention, account performance/ROAS results, and successful new account builds

How to Apply
Send the following to be considered:

Your resume/CV
WHY YOU STAND OUT FROM OTHERS - tell me in the application
Examples or case studies of Google Ads accounts you've managed — screenshots, results, or anonymized account data showing real performance you've driven
A short note on a time you caught a major problem in an ad account (yours or someone else's) and how you fixed it
Add google26 to application to be considered
By applying, you consent to Makarios Marketing reviewing your application materials and contacting any references provided
