Long Term Golf Video Editor
We’re looking for an experienced GOLF video editor to join our team long term.
This position is specifically for someone who understands golf content and knows how to turn on course footage into polished, engaging YouTube videos and short form content.
This is not a basic social media editing position.
We need someone who understands golf, storytelling, pacing, shot tracers, score graphics, motion graphics, sound design, and cinematic editing.
Editing Style
You should be familiar with content from:
* Bryson DeChambeau
* Grant Horvat
* Adventures in Golf / Erik Anders Lang
* Skratch
* No Laying Up
* Peter Finch
* Rick Shiels
Our content can move between two different styles.
On Course Golf Content
Think Bryson DeChambeau or Grant Horvat.
* Golf matches and challenges
* Playing famous courses
* Hole by hole storytelling
* Shot tracers
* Yardages
* Club selections
* Score graphics
* Hole information
* Reactions
* Golf specific sound design
* Drone footage
* B Roll between shots
Cinematic Golf Films
Think Adventures in Golf, Skratch, and No Laying Up.
These videos focus more on:
* The golf course
* Course history
* Travel
* Architecture
* The overall experience
* Cinematic B Roll
* Drone footage
* Natural sound
* Music
* Storytelling
* Interviews and talking heads
You need to understand when a video should feel energetic and when the footage needs room to breathe.
Golf Editing Experience
Golf editing experience is strongly preferred.
You should understand the natural flow of a golf video without needing every edit explained to you.
For example:
Tee shot ? tracer ? reaction ? second shot ? course B Roll ? approach ? putt ? score update ? next hole.
You should understand basic golf terminology and what viewers care about during a round.
Actually playing golf is a major plus.
Shot Tracers
This is extremely important.
You must be able to create professional looking:
* Ball tracers
* Shot tracers
* Curved shot shapes
* Drives
* Approach shot tracers
* Drone shot tracers when appropriate
The tracer needs to accurately follow the golf ball and shot shape.
We do not want random lines drawn into the sky.
Please provide examples of golf tracers you have personally created.
Golf Motion Graphics
You should be capable of creating clean, modern golf graphics such as:
* Hole number
* Par
* Yardage
* Player score
* Current score to par
* Club selection
* Shot distance
* Carry distance
* Pin location
* Hole maps
* Course maps
* Leaderboards
* Scorecards
* Lower thirds
* Animated typography
* Simple course information graphics
Think professional golf broadcast graphics mixed with modern YouTube golf content.
Nothing cheesy, outdated, or unnecessarily flashy.
Storytelling
We do not want someone who simply cuts clips together.
You should be able to watch footage and recognize:
“This shot needs more buildup.”
“This reaction should stay in.”
“We need B Roll here.”
“This hole is dragging.”
“This drone shot would establish the next hole.”
“This music doesn’t match the scene.”
“This moment needs natural sound instead of music.”
You should be helping build the story, not waiting for instructions on every cut.
Sound Design
Sound design is extremely important.
You should know how to use:
* Golf ball impacts
* Club sounds
* Natural course ambience
* Birds and wind
* Crowd reactions when applicable
* Dialogue
* Subtle risers
* Transitions
* Music
* Sound effects
The goal is immersion, not adding a sound effect every three seconds.
Cinematic Editing
We shoot high quality footage including:
* Sony cameras
* Sony S Log3
* DJI drones
* Multiple camera angles
* Slow motion
* Course B Roll
* Talking heads
* On course audio
You should know how to combine these into a polished golf film.
Color grading experience with Sony S Log3 and DJI footage is a major plus.
We prefer natural, premium looking color instead of aggressive LUTs.
Types of Content
Projects may include:
* Golf course documentaries
* Playing famous golf courses
* Golf challenges
* On course matches
* Course reviews
* Golf travel films
* Golf resort videos
* Equipment testing
* Golf product reviews
* Brand campaigns
* YouTube videos
* Reels
* Shorts
* TikToks
Most importantly, you need to understand golf content.
