JOB OVERVIEW

A dream job for a gamer who loves to write!

I run a growing YouTube channel focused on gacha games and JRPGs. I’m looking for a script writer who genuinely loves gaming and can turn messy, complex game info (kits, lore, story beats, community drama, patch changes) into scripts that are easy to follow, entertaining and accurate.

YOU WILL BE WRITING ACROSS:
- Zenless Zone Zero (required deep knowledge)
- Honkai: Star Rail (required deep knowledge)
- JRPGs and other upcoming games (example: a plot summary for a Dragon Quest remaster)
- Future games (example: Ananta)

One week you might write a ZZZ character lore breakdown and a “push or skip” video for Honkai Star Rail. The next week you might write a story summary or “what you need to know” video for a completely different game.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Write YouTube scripts for:

- Character guides, lore explainers, “pull or skip”, patch overviews and other stuff that audiences might like
- Plot summaries and recaps (spoiler-safe when required)
- Short-form scripts (Shorts/Reels style)
- Take complicated mechanics or lore and make them simple for everyday viewers
- Match different tones depending on the audience and video goal (funny, serious, hype, explanatory, story-time)
- Suggest video opportunities based on what’s trending in the games we cover (patch cycles, banners, drama, community interest, search demand)

REQUIRED:
- No agency submissions - I’m looking for individuals who want to be part of a team yet enjoy working from home
- No AI-written scripts: when it comes to game guides, AI is often inaccurate and misses nuance. I’m hiring a human writer for a reason.
- Strong existing knowledge of Zenless Zone Zero and Honkai: Star Rail, including characters and lore (you will be asked specific questions to confirm this)
- Adaptable to learning new games fast
- Able to write clearly and logically, with strong pacing and hooks
- Fast delivery without sacrificing quality
- A PC, mobile device or console capable of playing the games we cover (ZZZ, HSR, and upcoming titles). Must be able to easily download and play new games that may need coverage.

NICE TO HAVE:
- A sense of humour
- You already watch gaming YouTube and understand retention, hooks, pacing and “why people keep watching”
- You write and read A LOT
- You can pitch strong titles hooks, and thumbnail text options

PAY STRUCTURE (PATHWAY):
This role starts as per-script, with clear upside for great work.

Step 1: 8-week paid trial (pay-per-script)

- Pay per script based on length/format
- Clear deadlines agreed before each script
- Must be open to revisions and feedback (especially the first few weeks to get the tone of voice right with the YouTube channel)

Step 2: If we work well together

- We move to a small monthly retainer for a set number of scripts (still part-time), with extra scripts priced at the same per-script rate.
