We’re hiring one full-time developer to help turn a working internal AI video tool into a reliable production platform.
The tool takes scripts and voiceovers, generates and selects visuals, then renders complete long-form videos that can be 2–3 hours long. The core rendering layer uses Remotion and React and connects to several external APIs. It already works and is being used in production. We now need to make it faster, more reliable and capable of handling more visual formats.
You will be the main day-to-day builder. A separate senior developer will review architecture and important code, so you will have technical support without being micromanaged.
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
- React, TypeScript, Node.js and Remotion development
- Long-running video render jobs, queues, retries and checkpointing
- FFmpeg and other media-processing work
- API and AI-model integrations
- Cloud storage and production deployments
- Fixing bugs and reducing manual work
- Improving render speed, cost and reliability
- Building new production features from clear acceptance criteria
- Tests, documentation and clean GitHub pull requests
WHAT WE NEED
- Strong React, TypeScript and Node.js ability
- Experience with Remotion, FFmpeg or programmatic video generation is a major advantage
- Experience with APIs, asynchronous jobs and production systems
- Evidence that you have personally shipped real software
- Strong debugging skills
- Fast, clear communication and reliable daily availability
- Ability to work independently, raise blockers early and explain trade-offs
- Comfortable using AI coding tools, while still verifying and understanding everything you ship
- Able to commit 40 hours per week long term
PAY AND PROCESS
- $800–$1,000 USD per month to start, depending on ability
- Paid 8-hour practical trial using a small, clearly defined task
- Four-week initial proving period
- Performance and salary review after 60 days
- Long-term role for someone who consistently ships good work quickly
HOW TO APPLY
Start your application with the word REMOTION so I know you read the full post.
Then answer these questions in order:
1. Link 2–3 live products, repositories or relevant projects you personally built. Explain exactly what you did on each.
2. What experience do you have with Remotion, FFmpeg or video/media pipelines?
3. Describe the hardest production bug you personally diagnosed and fixed.
4. Which AI coding tools do you use, and how do you verify the code they produce?
5. What is your exact weekly availability and time zone?
6. What monthly salary are you asking for within the listed range?
7. Confirm whether you can commit 40 hours per week and disclose any other ongoing jobs or clients.
8. In 3–5 sentences: if a three-hour video render fails at 92%, how would you design the system so it does not restart from zero?
Generic applications that do not answer every question will not be considered.
