Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Property Accountant to support our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accrual-based accounting for property management, and ideally, hands-on experience with AppFolio. This role is critical in ensuring accurate monthly financial reporting, client communication, and ongoing financial analysis.
This is a remote position based in the Philippines, with a pay range of $1,200 to $1,500 USD per month, depending on experience. As our portfolio expands, there will be opportunities for pay increases and professional growth.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations across multiple properties
• Compile and deliver accurate and timely monthly financial reports to ownership and stakeholders
• Ensure general ledger accuracy, identifying and correcting discrepancies or anomalies (e.g., missing invoices, double entries)
• Conduct financial diagnostics to ensure reports are balanced and aligned with budget expectations
• Process and manage monthly distributions to property owners
• Communicate with clients regarding their financial reports and respond to inquiries professionally and clearly
• Work with operations teams to ensure accurate expense categorization and coding
• Maintain compliance with internal accounting standards and best practices
• Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement within the accounting workflow
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Minimum of 2–3 years of property management accounting experience
• Strong understanding of accrual-based accounting principles
• Experience with AppFolio strongly preferred
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all financial work
• Ability to analyze financial reports and spot inconsistencies
• Strong organizational and time management skills to meet monthly deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Google Workspace
