About the Role
Eveready Express is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and experienced Dispatcher to join our growing logistics team.
The ideal candidate must have at least two (2) years of experience working in the U.S. logistics or transportation industry and possess strong dispatching, route planning, and load coordination skills. You should thrive in a fast-paced environment, be able to effectively multitask, possess intermediate English communication skills, demonstrate expert computer skills, and have a growth mindset with a willingness to continuously learn and improve.
As a Dispatcher, you will be responsible for coordinating daily transportation operations, negotiating rates, assigning drivers, monitoring shipments, communicating with customers, and ensuring deliveries are completed safely, efficiently, and on time while maintaining compliance with DOT and ELD regulations.

Key Responsibilities
Dispatch Operations
Dispatch vehicles based on customer orders, schedules, and driver availability.
Negotiate rates with drivers while maintaining a target minimum 40% gross margin.
Assign loads efficiently to maximize profitability and operational performance.
Coordinate pickups and deliveries to ensure customer service expectations are met.
Driver Communication
Maintain continuous communication with drivers throughout their routes.
Provide dispatch instructions, updates, route changes, and operational support.
Ensure drivers follow company procedures and customer requirements.
Routing & Scheduling
Plan efficient delivery routes to minimize transit time, fuel consumption, and operating costs.
Adjust schedules quickly as operational needs or unforeseen circumstances arise.
Balance driver availability with customer delivery requirements.
Shipment Tracking
Monitor shipments in real time using GPS and dispatch software.
Proactively identify delays and coordinate solutions to minimize service disruptions.
Provide timely shipment updates to customers and internal teams.
Customer Service
Serve as the primary point of contact for customers after dispatch.
Respond professionally to customer inquiries.
Resolve delivery concerns while maintaining exceptional customer service.
Documentation & Compliance
Maintain accurate dispatch records, driver logs, shipment notes, Bills of Lading (BOLs), and Proofs of Delivery (PODs).
Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, ELD requirements, Hours of Service (HOS), company policies, and customer-specific procedures.
Problem Solving
Resolve logistical challenges including traffic delays, vehicle breakdowns, weather disruptions, missed appointments, and last-minute schedule changes.
Safety & Regulatory Compliance
Verify driver qualifications, vehicle readiness, insurance, and compliance with company safety standards.
Work closely with HR and Operations to ensure all regulatory requirements are met.
Team Collaboration
Collaborate with Customer Service, Operations, Billing, Sales, HR, Warehouse, and Drivers to ensure seamless daily operations.
Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities to improve dispatch efficiency, operational workflows, and customer satisfaction.
Recommend process improvements and innovative solutions to management.
Qualifications
Required: Minimum of 2 years of experience in the U.S. logistics or transportation industry.
Previous experience dispatching 26-foot box trucks, cargo vans, sprinter vans, or final-mile delivery vehicles is required.
Strong understanding of DOT regulations, ELD compliance, and Hours of Service (HOS) requirements.
Experience negotiating driver rates while maintaining profitability and service quality.
Expert computer skills, including the ability to quickly navigate multiple applications, browser tabs, spreadsheets, dispatch platforms, and communication tools simultaneously.
Proficiency with Transportation Management Systems (TMS), dispatch software, GPS tracking platforms, load boards, CRM systems, Microsoft Office (especially Excel), Google Workspace, and web-based applications.
Strong ability to multitask and manage multiple drivers, customers, deliveries, and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Intermediate English communication skills (written and verbal).
Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Comfortable communicating professionally with drivers, customers, brokers, and internal teams.
Strong critical-thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
Dependable, self-motivated, highly organized, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
Demonstrates a growth mindset, is coachable, adaptable, and committed to continuous learning and improvement.
Must be available to work a full-time schedule, including evenings, weekends, or holidays as operational needs require.
