Work Setup: Remote / Work From Home
Employment Type: Full-Time
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM Philippine Time (1-hour unpaid break included)
Total Work Hours: 48 hours per week under a compressed workweek schedule

About the Role:

We are looking for a skilled and creative Writer & Editor for Nonfiction Books who can help develop, write, improve, and polish Taglish and English manuscripts for Filipino readers.

This role is ideal for someone who can write clearly, organize ideas well, edit with strong attention to detail, and make nonfiction books engaging, practical, and easy to understand.

AI tools may be used as part of the writing and editing workflow, but the final output must be human-refined, well-structured, original, natural, and suitable for the target market. We are not looking for someone who only copies AI-generated content. We need a writer-editor who can use AI wisely while applying creativity, judgment, research, and strong editorial skills.

Responsibilities:

Write and improve nonfiction book manuscripts in Taglish and/or English
Develop chapter outlines, book flow, titles, subtitles, examples, and key takeaways
Edit drafts for clarity, grammar, structure, tone, flow, and readability
Improve AI-assisted drafts to make them sound natural, human, practical, and engaging
Remove repetitive, generic, boring, or overly academic content
Make the manuscript relatable and suitable for Filipino mass-market readers
Check weak sections, confusing ideas, awkward wording, and inconsistent tone
Research topics, reader problems, and practical examples when needed
Follow the required writing style, voice, structure, and brand direction
Revise manuscripts based on feedback from the publishing team
Meet agreed deadlines without sacrificing quality:

Qualifications:

Experience in writing or editing books, ebooks, long-form content, articles, blogs, scripts, or educational materials
Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and content organization skills
Can write naturally in Taglish and/or English
Understands Filipino readers and practical nonfiction writing style
Knowledgeable in using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or similar tools as part of the writing workflow
Can improve AI-assisted content instead of simply copying or relying on AI output
Creative, detail-oriented, organized, and deadline-driven
Can follow instructions and work independently
Open to feedback and revisions

Preferred Experience:

Experience writing or editing any of the following is a plus:

Business books
Self-help books
Motivational books
Educational books
Practical guide books
Filipino/Taglish nonfiction content
Social media or marketing content

Required Output Per Manuscript:

Chapter outline or improved book structure
Written or edited manuscript draft
Revised manuscript after feedback
Clean final version
Editorial notes or list of concerns, if any
Research notes or references used, if applicable

Skills Test:

Shortlisted applicants will be given a short writing and editing test to assess writing quality, creativity, clarity, grammar, structure, AI-assisted workflow, and ability to write for Filipino readers.

The test will be used strictly for skills assessment purposes only.
