Remote Full-Stack Product Engineer / App Manager

Location: Philippines – Remote
Hours: Initially 20–30 hours per week, with potential to become full-time
Position: Long-term

About the Platform

We have developed a new online professional community and platform for the medical aesthetics industry.

The platform is already built and operational and includes a professional forum/community, practitioner functionality and a growing range of features.

We are now looking for a technically strong and reliable person to take day-to-day ownership of the platform, maintain it and work with us to continue developing it.

The platform has been developed using modern web technologies with significant use of AI-assisted development, including Claude Code. We are therefore particularly interested in developers who are highly comfortable using AI coding tools to develop, troubleshoot and improve an existing application.

The Role

You will become the main technical person responsible for the platform.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Understanding and documenting the existing codebase and architecture
- Managing and maintaining the live application
- Fixing bugs and technical issues
- Developing new features
- Managing the database and backend
- Managing deployments and version control
- Maintaining GitHub repositories
- Monitoring application performance and errors
- Maintaining backups and security
- Managing APIs and third-party integrations
- Working with our existing website, marketing and design teams
- Improving UI/UX where required
- Testing changes before they are released
- Using AI development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, Codex or GitHub Copilot to accelerate development
- Advising us when there is a better technical solution rather than simply implementing instructions

We do not expect every line of code to be written manually. We actively encourage intelligent use of AI development tools. However, you must have sufficient development experience to understand, review, test and troubleshoot AI-generated code rather than relying blindly on AI.

Skills We Are Looking For

Strong experience with several of the following:

- JavaScript / TypeScript
- React and/or Next.js
- Node.js
- PostgreSQL and modern database systems
- Supabase and/or Firebase
- REST APIs and third-party integrations
- Git / GitHub
- Cloud deployment and hosting
- Authentication and user permissions
- Database migrations and backups
- Application security
- Responsive web/mobile development
- Error monitoring and debugging

Experience with community platforms, forums, SaaS products, marketplaces, directories, social networks or membership platforms would be particularly useful.

Experience using Claude Code or similar AI coding agents in real development projects is highly desirable.

The Person We Want

We are looking for somebody who can take ownership rather than waiting for detailed technical instructions.

We would expect you to understand the requirement, identify the best technical approach, implement it safely, test it and deploy it.

Initial Project

Your first task will be to carry out a technical audit of the existing platform.

This will include reviewing:

- Codebase
- Application architecture
- Database
- Hosting
- Authentication
- APIs
- Security
- Backups
- Deployment process
- GitHub/version control
- Third-party services
- Performance and error monitoring

You will then provide recommendations and help us establish a stable development, staging and production workflow before continuing development.
