Full-Stack Developer – EMR / Clinical Systems

Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Full-Stack Developer with a strong background in Electronic Medical Records (EMR), Electronic Health Records (EHR), clinical software, or healthcare technology platforms.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience developing, maintaining, and enhancing healthcare applications, with a solid understanding of EMR functionality, clinical workflows, healthcare data, APIs, and system integrations.

This role is specifically focused on the development and improvement of clinical and healthcare software. Candidates should have experience working directly with EMR/EHR or clinical applications rather than having a background limited to infrastructure or cybersecurity.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance full-stack applications that support clinical and healthcare workflows.

• Work across both front-end and back-end components of healthcare applications.

• Develop and maintain integrations between EMR/EHR platforms and third-party healthcare applications.

• Work with healthcare data, clinical workflows, APIs, and system integrations.

• Build and improve features used by healthcare providers, clinical users, and operational teams.

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to EMR functionality, integrations, and application performance.

• Collaborate with product, clinical, and technical teams to translate healthcare requirements into scalable software solutions.

• Design, develop, test, and deploy new features and system improvements.

• Work with APIs and healthcare data exchange processes.

• Maintain clean, scalable, well-documented, and maintainable code.

• Participate in technical planning, system architecture, code reviews, and troubleshooting.

• Identify opportunities to improve clinical workflows and overall software functionality.

Required Qualifications

• Proven professional experience as a Full-Stack Developer.

• Previous experience working with EMR, EHR, clinical software, healthcare technology, or healthcare SaaS platforms.

• Direct experience working with clinical applications or EMR/EHR systems.

• Experience with healthcare integrations and APIs.

• Strong understanding of clinical workflows and how healthcare providers interact with EMR/EHR systems.

• Experience working with healthcare data and related systems.

• Strong front-end and back-end development experience.

• Experience developing and integrating APIs and third-party systems.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Ability to understand both technical requirements and clinical/business requirements.

• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Technical Skills

Candidates should ideally have experience with several of the following:

• Full-stack web development
• Front-end frameworks
• Back-end development
• REST APIs
• Healthcare APIs and integrations
• Database development and management
• Cloud-based applications
• Third-party system integrations
• Authentication and authorization
• Healthcare system data exchange
• Git/version control
• Software testing and deployment

Specific programming languages and frameworks may vary depending on the candidate's background. Strong overall full-stack development experience within a healthcare environment is the priority.

Healthcare Technology Experience

Experience in any of the following areas is highly relevant:

• EMR/EHR platforms
• Clinical management systems
• Healthcare SaaS
• Long-term care software
• Senior living software
• Home healthcare software
• Clinical documentation systems
• Healthcare integrations
• Patient data systems
• Clinical workflows
• Healthcare APIs

Candidates with experience developing products similar to established EMR/EHR and clinical software platforms will also be strongly considered. Experience does not need to be with a specific company, provided the candidate has comparable professional experience within an EMR/EHR or clinical software environment.

Key Requirements

The following are non-negotiable for this position:

• Proven Full-Stack Development experience.

• Previous professional experience in EMR/EHR, clinical software, or a closely related healthcare technology environment.

• Experience working with clinical functionality, EMR workflows, or healthcare integrations.

• Strong knowledge of both front-end and back-end software development.

• Experience working with APIs and integrating multiple systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience with a recognized EMR/EHR or clinical software company.

• Experience in long-term care, senior living, home health, or similar clinical environments.

• Experience integrating multiple healthcare platforms.

• Knowledge of healthcare data standards and interoperability.

• Experience building software used directly by healthcare professionals.

• Familiarity with HIPAA-compliant environments.

• Experience working within healthcare SaaS.
