Freelance Packaging & Print Graphic Designer – Beauty Brand | $7–$10/hr
We are an established UK skincare and suncare brand looking for an experienced **Packaging & Print Graphic Designer** based in the Philippines to support us on an ongoing freelance basis.
**This is primarily a packaging and print artwork role — not a social media design role.**
We already have an established brand identity and existing packaging ranges. We need someone who can work confidently with our existing artwork and manufacturer dielines to create new product variations, make amendments and prepare technically correct files that are ready to send to printers and manufacturers.
## THE WORK
Typical projects include:
* Product labels
* Bottle and tube artwork
* Cartons and boxes
* Creating artwork for new products and sizes using our existing brand style
* Adapting existing packaging for different products/variants
* Updating ingredients, directions, claims, warnings, barcodes and other packaging information
* Working with manufacturer-supplied dielines/templates
* Preparing artwork for different markets
* Preparing final print-ready PDFs
* Supplying organised, editable Adobe Illustrator source files
* Outlining fonts/text for production
* Checking bleed, trim, safe areas and artwork positioning
* Working with CMYK and Pantone colours
* Creating packaging mock-ups when required
## YOU MUST HAVE
* Strong experience designing **physical product packaging**
* Advanced Adobe Illustrator skills
* Good Adobe Photoshop skills
* A portfolio showing genuine packaging projects
* Experience working with packaging dielines
* Experience preparing artwork for commercial printing/manufacturing
* Strong understanding of bleed, trim, safe areas, CMYK and Pantone colours
* Experience outlining fonts and preparing production-ready artwork
* Excellent attention to detail
* Good written and spoken English
* Ability to work accurately within an established brand identity
* Reliable and responsive communication
Experience with **beauty, skincare, cosmetics, personal care or FMCG packaging** would be a significant advantage.
## WORKING ARRANGEMENT
This is an **ongoing freelance role with flexible hours**. There are no guaranteed weekly hours.
Our workload varies according to product launches and production schedules. Some weeks we may have very little work; during busy periods we may need considerably more support and fast turnaround.
We are looking for someone who enjoys this type of flexible arrangement and is interested in becoming our **go-to freelance packaging designer** on an ongoing basis.
### IMPORTANT – WORKING HOURS
We are specifically looking for someone who can provide **regular overlap with UK afternoon/evening hours when projects are active**.
This will mean working **late-night/early-morning Philippines hours**.
This is important because we sometimes need to work together in real time to review artwork, make amendments and get packaging signed off for production.
You do not need to work these hours every day, but you must be comfortable being available during these hours when we have active projects.
## RATE
**$7–$10 USD per hour depending on experience and ability.**
We are happy to pay at the upper end of the range for someone with excellent packaging and print-production experience who can work quickly and independently and reliably produce technically correct, print-ready files.
## HOW TO APPLY
Please start your application with the words:
**PRINT READY**
Then please provide:
1. A link to your portfolio.
2. **3–5 examples of physical packaging artwork you personally created.**
3. At least one example of packaging that went into commercial print/production, if available.
4. A short explanation of your experience preparing **print-ready packaging files**.
5. Your experience working with dielines.
6. Your hourly rate in USD.
7. Your normal working hours in **Philippines time**.
8. The hours you could regularly be available to overlap with **UK afternoon/evening time**.
9. How much notice you generally need before taking on a new piece of work.
10. Approximately how many hours you could accommodate during a busy week.
11. Which Adobe programs you use.
**Please do not apply if your portfolio consists mainly of Canva, social media or website graphics and you do not have genuine physical packaging/print-production experience.**
We are looking for someone technically strong, fast and detail-oriented who we can build a long-term freelance working relationship with.
