JOB OVERVIEW

OVERVIEW:

Rise Media LLC is a fast-growing digital media + education company doing roughly $5–6M/year. We’re looking for a sharp, proactive fractional bookkeeper who can manage bookkeeping for three related entities under one engagement:

1. Rise Media LLC (parent; ~80% of the work / transactions)
2. Obsessed Actor LLC (simpler; primarily distributions + contractor payments)
3. 2nd Sight Productions LLC (simpler; primarily distributions + contractor payments)

This is not a “one-company, reconcile the bank once a month” type of role. We need someone who genuinely understands multi-entity bookkeeping, intercompany transfers/distributions, and clean monthly close.

ROLE DETAILS:

- Type: Remote, part-time, fractional
- Budget: Flexible - please propose your monthly rate based on the actual scope described. We expect light fractional engagement, roughly 10-15 hours per month total across all three entities, with Rise Media being the majority of that work.
- Tools: QuickBooks Online (QBO) — not Desktop
- Rhythm: Ongoing monthly close + at least one monthly P&L review call

RESPONSABILITIES:

- Maintain accurate books in QuickBooks Online for all three entities.
- Classify and reconcile transactions (bank/credit card) on a consistent cadence.
- Handle intercompany transfers, owner distributions, and partner distributions correctly.
- Ensure contractor payments are categorized correctly and support clean 1099 workflows (as applicable).
- Prepare monthly financials, including:
- Monthly Profit & Loss (per entity)
- Balance Sheet (per entity)
- Clear notes/flags: unusual transactions, missing documentation, items needing decisions
- Support/coordinate S-corp payroll setup workflows (Obsessed Actor LLC recently filed S-corp election).
- Create and maintain a simple, reliable monthly close checklist so the process is repeatable.
- Communicate clearly: what you need from us, what’s blocked, and what’s done.

NON-NEGOTIABLE REQUIREMENTS:

- Proven experience managing bookkeeping across multiple LLCs with intercompany transfers/distributions.
- Strong QuickBooks Online experience (not Desktop).
- Experience supporting S-corp payroll setup (and understanding what needs to be coordinated with payroll providers and/or CPA).
- Solid knowledge of U.S. business accounting.
- Available for at least one monthly P&L review call.
- Tech-forward / AI-friendly working style (comfortable with modern tools, automation, and clear SOPs).

NICE TO HAVE:

- Experience with subscription-based revenue models.
- Experience supporting companies scaling from 7 to 8 figures.
