JOB OVERVIEW

Ideas Community has spent 27 years championing business leaders and entrepreneurs across the UK, running five national programmes including Ideas Fest, the Great British Entrepreneur Awards and the UK StartUp Awards.

I'm looking for someone to work closely alongside me: protecting my time, keeping my diary and inbox under control, and helping build my personal brand across social media. It's a varied role that moves quickly. One hour you'll be rescheduling three meetings and drafting a polite decline, the next you'll be cutting a podcast clip and writing the caption to go with it.

This suits someone who is genuinely organised, has an excellent eye for detail, and enjoys writing. You'll be trusted with a lot early on.

What you'll be doing

Diary and inbox management

Owning my calendar: scheduling, rescheduling, protecting focus time and flagging clashes before they happen
Managing meeting requests, sending invitations, confirming details and preparing me with the context I need beforehand
Triaging my inbox, drafting replies in my voice, and chasing responses on my behalf
Coordinating travel, accommodation and logistics around events and speaking commitments
Keeping on top of deadlines, follow ups and commitments so nothing slips

Podcast and video production

Editing recorded podcast episodes into finished long form videos, plus short vertical clips for social
Adding captions, titles, branding and simple graphics
Uploading and scheduling
Spotting the strongest ---------- nts in a recording and turning them into clips worth watching

Social media and personal brand

Suggesting and drafting captions, hooks and post copy
Maintaining a content calendar so posting is consistent rather than reactive
Monitoring comments and messages, replying where appropriate and escalating what needs me
Keeping an eye on what's performing and feeding that back into what we make next
Tracking trends, formats and audio that are worth trying

General support

Building simple documents, decks and one pagers to a high standard
Note taking in meetings and turning notes into clear actions
Ad hoc research and project support across the business
What I'm looking for

Essential

Impeccable written English: spelling, grammar and punctuation you don't have to think about, and an ability to write in someone else's voice
Genuinely detail orientated. You notice the wrong date, the missing attachment and the typo in the caption
Proven diary and inbox management experience, ideally supporting a founder or senior leader
Confident, polite and warm communication with everyone from sponsors and speakers to suppliers and the wider team
Practical video editing skills: comfortable cutting long form footage, adding captions and exporting for different platforms
Discreet and trustworthy with confidential information
Able to work independently, prioritise sensibly and ask when something isn't clear
