KING OF THE PITCH — FOOTBALL/SOCCER EDITOR & CONTENT PRODUCER
Turn our raw football event footage into compelling Instagram Reels, TikToks and YouTube Shorts. You will own the workflow from organizing camera files to finding the strongest moments and delivering finished vertical edits. We want someone who understands football and can work without us selecting every moment or supplying timestamps.
This is a dedicated original-footage editing role, separate from our online content-sourcing and social publishing work. Remote, freelance/part-time to start, with potential for ongoing batches after a paid audition. Initially up to 10 hours/week, with the workload agreed before work begins. Starting rate: $5 USD/hour, negotiable based on demonstrated ability. All ingest, footage review, editing, revisions and handoff count toward agreed paid hours.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
• Organize KOP1/KOP2 footage by event, match, camera and date; preserve originals and maintain clear filenames.
• Create proxies when needed, synchronize multiple angles using timecode, audio/waveforms or manual sync, and build reusable multicam sequences.
• Independently find goals, assists, nutmegs, skills, saves, tackles, celebrations, reactions, funny moments, player personalities and mini-storylines.
• Choose the best angle and preserve the setup and payoff. Recognize when the move before the goal is the real story.
• Match color across cameras, clean and mix audio, and use original event sound effectively.
• Produce strong 9:16 edits, from short highlights to narrative 30–90-second pieces, with purposeful pacing, captions, graphics, music and sound design where useful.
• Deliver finished exports, editable Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve projects, a timestamped selects log and organized reusable files. Document your workflow so another editor can pick up the project.
REQUIRED
• Demonstrated football/soccer understanding and strong short-form storytelling judgment.
• Premiere Pro and/or DaVinci Resolve experience, including raw multicamera synchronization, audio cleanup and basic color matching.
• A computer, storage and internet connection suitable for large video files.
• Clear communication, reliable estimates and willingness to flag missing footage or technical limits early.
HOW TO APPLY
1. Share three relevant short-form edits you personally made, including football/soccer work if available. Explain your contribution to each.
2. Include one raw-multicamera project example and briefly explain how you synchronized and organized it. If confidential, describe the process without sharing private footage.
3. Tell us your software, football leagues/teams you follow, weekly availability and typical turnaround.
4. Quote your hourly rate and, if useful, a per-finished-clip rate. Explain whether ingest, footage review, synchronization, revisions and project handoff are included. Flag any extra tool or storage costs.
5. Answer this scenario: You receive a 90-minute football event recorded simultaneously on four cameras, with no selects or timestamps. How would you organize and sync it, identify the best moments and deliver 10 distinct vertical clips? Give your estimated working time and assumptions, separating setup/review from editing.
PAID AUDITION
Shortlisted applicants may be invited to work from the same manageable KOP2 raw-footage package: organize/sync it and create three distinct vertical clips you judge to be strongest, with editable project files and a short selection rationale. We will agree a fixed fee, time cap, package size and deadline before anyone starts. No unpaid custom sample is requested with your application.
We evaluate football judgment and moment selection (30%), storytelling (25%), editing/pacing (20%), multicam/audio/color execution (15%) and organization/reliability (10%). We value consistently publishable content and a reusable footage library. The 10-clip scenario is a planning question, not an unpaid assignment or a daily quota. Nothing should be published during the audition.
