Join a U.S.-based solar company with 8+ years of proven success and a mission to bring clean energy to more homes! We're seeking a strategic and hands-on Financial Controller to own our accounting operations, drive financial strategy, and build a scalable foundation for our continued growth.
Your Role:
As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for the integrity of our financial reporting and operations. Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and managing all aspects of the full-cycle accounting process, including Billing, Accounts Receivable (A/R), Accounts Payable (A/P), General Ledger (GL) management, and Revenue Recognition.
- Owning the month-end and year-end close process to ensure the timely delivery of accurate financial statements and management reporting.
- Developing and delivering comprehensive financial reporting packages, including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Statement of Cash Flows, complete with insightful variance analysis and commentary on key business KPIs.
- Driving the financial planning and analysis (FP&A) function, including the creation of annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and strategic financial models.
- Designing and maintaining robust internal controls and accounting policies to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with, focusing on process improvement and efficiency.
- Overseeing treasury functions, including daily cash management, cash flow forecasting, and optimization of working capital.
- Serving as the primary point of contact for vendors, finance partners, and financial audits to ensure federal and state tax compliance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA is highly preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 2+ years in a senior or managerial role (e.g., Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller).
- Advanced proficiency with accounting systems, particularly QuickBooks Online (QBO), and expert-level Microsoft Excel skills for financial modeling and data analysis. Experience with Zoho CRM is a plus.
- Thorough, in-depth knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Demonstrated strategic and analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to act as a business partner to non-financial stakeholders.
- Experience in the renewable energy, solar, or construction industry is a strong plus; experience with project accounting is highly desirable.
