We are looking for a highly experienced and detail-oriented Financial Controller (CPA) to oversee and manage our financial operations. This role goes beyond traditional bookkeeping and focuses on financial reporting, compliance, and supporting business decisions, particularly within the fund/investment industry.
Must Have:
-CPA license (Certified Public Accountant)
-5+ years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or financial management
-Strong experience in U.S.-based accounting
-Proven experience in reviewing and analyzing financial statements
-Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software
-Deep understanding of GAAP and financial compliance
-Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
-Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
-Ability to work independently and take ownership of financial processes
-Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Responsibilities:
-Oversee day-to-day accounting and financial operations
-Review and analyze financial statements and reports
-Ensure accuracy of bookkeeping, journal entries, and reconciliations
-Maintain compliance with GAAP and financial regulations
-Support audits and ensure proper documentation of financial records
-Identify discrepancies and provide solutions for financial improvements
-Collaborate with internal teams to support financial decision-making
-Improve financial processes and workflows when needed
Nice to Have:
-Experience in fund accounting, venture capital, or investment firms
-Background in handling multi-entity or international accounts
-Experience working with remote or global teams
-Strong communication skills and ability to explain financial data clearly
