We’re looking for a detail-oriented and hands-on Comptroller to oversee the day-to-day financial operations of a nonprofit organization while ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and compliance with accounting and regulatory standards.
The ideal candidate has a strong accounting and finance background with significant hands-on experience in financial operations, reporting, audit preparation, cash flow management, and internal controls. This role is well-suited for someone who is comfortable balancing day-to-day accounting operations with financial oversight and strategic support.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and payroll oversight
Prepare accurate monthly financial statements, budget-to-actual reports, and financial analyses for leadership and Board review
Monitor cash flow, oversee banking relationships, and maintain strong financial controls and compliance procedures
Lead adit preparation and coordinate with external auditors, accountants, and regulatory agencies as needed
Support organizational financial planning and process improvements
Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and financial documentation
Ensure accounting records and financial reports are accurate, complete, and maintained on time
Support the client with additional tasks and responsibilities as needed, in alignment with the role and overall business objectives
Who We’re Looking For:
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting, finance, or controllership experience
Previous experience in nonprofit, healthcare, or behavioral health environments is highly preferred
Experience with accounting systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
NetSuite experience is a MUST
Strong understanding of financial reporting, audit preparation, cash flow management, and internal controls
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities independently
Available to work in US time zones (Graveyard shift in the Philippines)
Available to start within 2 weeks from job offer
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
Technical Requirements:
Comfortable in using time-trackers (e.g. Time Doctor)
Own laptop/desktop, noise-cancelling headphones, and webcam
Reliable internet connection (at least 50 Mbps)
Available backup equipment in cases of power and internet outages
