About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented Accountant / Finance & Tax Specialist to manage accounting, payroll, tax compliance, and financial reporting for our Philippine and Australian entities.
This role will play an important part in maintaining the financial and statutory requirements of the Philippine entity while supporting compliance with both Philippine and Australian tax obligations. The ideal candidate has strong tax and accounting experience, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a cross-border environment.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Management
-Manage day-to-day accounting activities for Philippine and Australian entities.
-Maintain accurate financial records, ledgers, and reconciliations.
-Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
-Maintain proper documentation and ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.
Payroll Management
-Process payroll accurately and on time.
-Manage statutory contributions and deductions, including SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, and PAYG where applicable.
-Prepare payroll reports and address payroll-related concerns.
-Ensure compliance with applicable payroll and labor requirements.
Tax Compliance
-Prepare, file, and manage corporate tax obligations in the Philippines and Australia.
-Handle personal tax filings for company principals, as required.
-Manage income tax, VAT/GST, withholding taxes, and other statutory obligations.
-Coordinate with the BIR, ATO, external auditors, and tax advisors when required.
-Monitor changes in Philippine and Australian tax regulations.
Entity & Regulatory Compliance
-Manage registrations, renewals, statutory filings, and other compliance requirements for the Philippine entity.
-Coordinate with regulators and external service providers.
-Support audits, tax assessments, and regulatory reviews.
-Maintain accurate compliance calendars and supporting documentation.
Requirements
-Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
-CPA or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
-At least 5 years of accounting experience, including payroll and tax compliance.
-Strong knowledge of Philippine tax laws and regulations.
-Familiarity with Australian taxation, including Income Tax, GST, PAYG, and BAS.
-Experience with Xero or other Australian accounting software.
-Experience with Sprout HR or other Philippine payroll/accounting systems.
-Experience supporting or managing a Philippine corporate entity.
-Cross-border or multinational accounting experience is an advantage.
-Experience handling personal tax filings is an advantage.
-Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality.
-Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
-Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
-Good written and verbal communication skills.
