Job Title: Finance & Payroll Manager
Role Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Finance & Payroll Manager to oversee our financial health and ensure our team is paid accurately and on time. You will be responsible for the full accounting cycle, from processing bi-weekly payroll and managing tax compliance to preparing monthly financial statements and advising leadership on budget management.
Key Responsibilities
1. Payroll & Compliance
Execute end-to-end payroll processing for all employees (salary, hourly, and commissions).
Manage tax withholdings, benefits deductions, 401(k) contributions, and workers' compensation.
Stay updated on local, state, and federal labor laws to ensure total compliance.
Act as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries regarding pay and benefits.
2. Financial Management & Reporting
Maintain the general ledger and oversee Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
Perform monthly bank reconciliations and lead the month-end/year-end closing process.
Prepare accurate financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) for ownership/leadership.
Manage cash flow forecasting to ensure the company meets all operational obligations.
3. Strategy & Oversight
Develop and monitor annual department budgets.
Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
Coordinate with external CPAs for annual tax filings and audits.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Experience: 5+ years in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years specifically managing payroll.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA is a plus).
Software: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage) and payroll platforms (e.g., Gusto, ADP, Rippling).
Expertise: Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) and a deep understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
