The role
You are the person who takes raw footage and turns it into scroll-stopping content. Every day, you will receive raw video clips from our shop floor (printing presses running, orders being made, finished products) and talking-head recordings from the owner. Your job is to edit these into short-form and long-form videos optimized for each platform.
This is a high-volume role. You will produce 8–15 edited video pieces per day across different formats. Speed, consistency, and understanding of what makes content perform on social media are essential.
What you will do
Short-form video editing (primary focus — 70% of time)
• Edit raw clips into 15–60 second videos for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts
• Add captions/subtitles to all videos (burned-in, styled, readable)
• Write and add text hooks in the first 1–2 seconds of every video
• Add transitions, zoom effects, and pacing that match platform trends
• Select and sync trending audio/music where appropriate
• Create satisfying loop videos from production process footage (press pulls, ink shots, transfer peels)
• Edit before/after reveal videos with dramatic transitions
• Format and resize the same video for different platforms (9:16, 1:1, 16:9)
Long-form video editing (20% of time)
• Edit 1 long-form YouTube video per week (5–15 minutes)
• Full process walkthroughs: a single order from design to shipping
• Educational content: print method comparisons, branding guides, industry tips
• Add intro/outro, lower thirds, chapter markers, and b-roll where needed
• Create compelling thumbnails for YouTube videos
Ad creative (10% of time)
• Edit short video ads for Meta
• Create multiple variations of the same ad for A/B testing
• Follow direct creative briefs from the Content Manager
Daily output expectations
• 8–10 short-form videos (TikTok/Reels/Shorts format) per day
• 2–3 Stories-format clips per day
• 1 long-form YouTube video per week
• 1–2 ad creatives per week
Requirements
Must have
• 2+ years of experience editing short-form video content (TikTok, Reels, Shorts)
• Portfolio/reel showing at least 10 short-form videos you’ve edited
• Proficient in CapCut Pro, Adobe Premiere Pro, or DaVinci Resolve
• Strong understanding of hooks, pacing, captions, and trending formats
• Ability to turn around 8–10 short clips per day consistently
• Understanding of what makes content perform on each platform (TikTok vs Reels vs Shorts)
• Clean, professional editing style — not over-edited, not under-edited
Nice to have
• Experience editing content for product-based or service-based businesses
• YouTube long-form editing experience (chapters, b-roll, pacing)
• Motion graphics or animation skills (After Effects, Motion)
• Thumbnail design skills (Photoshop or Canva)
• Basic color correction and audio cleanup skills
• Familiarity with royalty-free music libraries and sound design
