JOB OVERVIEW

I am looking for an experienced, professional, and dependable YouTube video editor to work with me on a long-term, on-call basis.

This is not a full-time role, and hours will vary depending on when new videos are produced. Some weeks may have work, and some may not. I am looking for someone who is comfortable with flexible hours and wants to build a strong long-term working relationship with a serious content creator.

My content is primarily educational, talking-head, and informational YouTube videos, so I need an editor who understands how to keep videos engaging, polished, and easy to watch while maintaining a clean and professional style.

This is not a role for flashy, over-the-top editing. I want someone who knows how to improve pacing, clarity, and retention in a way that feels natural and polished.

What You’ll Be Doing

Video Editing

Edit talking-head YouTube videos from raw footage
Remove mistakes, pauses, filler words, and unnecessary sections
Improve pacing and flow to increase viewer retention
Add tasteful zooms, transitions, and light motion where appropriate
Add royalty-free music when needed
Include simple text, visual callouts, and graphics when useful
Follow feedback, notes, and brand standards carefully
Deliver final edits on time

Thumbnail Design

Design compelling YouTube thumbnails that are clean and clickable
Use clear text, strong visual contrast, and mobile-friendly layouts
Create thumbnails that match the tone and branding of the channel

Who I’m Looking For

At least 2 years of experience editing YouTube videos
Strong understanding of YouTube pacing, audience retention, and storytelling
Experience editing educational, commentary, or business-style content
Ability to design quality thumbnails
Strong English comprehension
Reliable communication and professional attitude
Detail-oriented and able to follow instructions closely
Open to revisions and feedback
Able to work independently and stay organized

Requirements

Computer/laptop that can handle editing efficiently
Willing to use TimeProof for time tracking

Pay: $3 USD per hour
