JOB OVERVIEW

GIS Mapping Specialist – Oil & Gas
Location: Remote (U.S.)
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday | 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM Central Time
We are a growing oil and gas company seeking an experienced GIS Mapping Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate has a strong background in GIS mapping within the oil and gas industry and understands how to create, manage, and analyze mapping data used for land, leasing, pipeline, and exploration projects.
Responsibilities
Create, edit, and maintain GIS maps and geospatial databases.
Analyze spatial data related to oil and gas assets, leases, wells, pipelines, and land ownership.
Produce high-quality maps and reports for internal teams and clients.
Integrate GIS data from multiple sources while maintaining accuracy.
Support land, leasing, title, and operations teams with mapping requests.
Ensure mapping projects are completed accurately and on schedule.
Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of GIS experience in the oil and gas industry.
Proficiency with Esri ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, or similar GIS software.
Experience working with:
Oil and gas lease mapping
Well and pipeline mapping
Survey and parcel data
Shapefiles and geodatabases
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment while managing multiple projects.
Preferred Experience
Familiarity with land records, title research, and lease acquisition.
Knowledge of PLSS, metes and bounds, or survey systems.
Experience supporting landmen or lease buyers is a plus.
