# HIGHLY EXPERIENCED IN ORGANIC SOCIAL MEDIA PERFORMANCE + LEAD ENGAGEMENT
We’re looking for someone who genuinely lives and breathes social media.
Not someone who needs a daily list of posts to make.
Not someone whose idea of content creation is asking ChatGPT for 10 Reel ideas and posting whatever comes back.
WE ARE NOT LOOKING FOR THE CHEAPEST PERSON.
We are looking for someone genuinely good who can take ownership, think independently and become increasingly valuable to the business.
We are prepared to pay well for the right person. Someone willing to really roll their sleeves up and make an impact in an up-and-coming business with a lot of potential.
Someone who can look at our audience, existing content and analytics and tell us what we should be doing next.
This is a full-time marketing role working across two established Australian fitness and coaching businesses, with the primary focus being the Sam Roberts Online Coaching brand
Sam helps busy dads and men over 40 lose weight, improve their energy and get control of their health again.
We already have:
* A clearly defined target market and brand position
* A large library of existing content
* Proven content themes and messaging
* A dedicated video editor
* Additional graphic design support
* Sam and the business owner handling filming
* Established lead-generation and DM systems
* A substantial internal AI knowledge base containing our brand, audience, scripts, offers, content strategy and coaching methodology
We don’t need someone to build everything from zero.
We need someone who can help us get far more out of what we already have, identify what we should create next and gradually take ownership of the content pipeline.
# WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
A major part of your role will be social content and organic growth.
You’ll be responsible for things such as:
* Researching high-performing social content, creators, formats and emerging ideas
* Finding outlier Reels and understanding WHY they performed
* Developing new content concepts and scripts for Sam
* Preparing scripts, references and virtual filming briefs before filming sessions
* Finding intelligent ways to repurpose existing footage and content
* Turning strong ideas into Reels, Stories, carousels and other social content
* Maintaining the content calendar and production pipeline
* Creating simple graphics and carousels yourself when appropriate
* Coordinating more involved work with our video editor and graphic designer
* Scheduling and publishing content
* Reviewing social analytics
* Identifying winners, losers and patterns
* Recommending what we should do more of, less of and test next
* Building a backlog so we are not constantly scrambling for something to post
We want someone who thinks beyond:
“What do I need to post today?”
And instead thinks:
“What is working, why is it working, and how can we turn that into more growth?”
# YOU’LL ALSO HELP MANAGE LEADS THROUGH DMs
Initially, a meaningful part of this role will involve helping us manage conversations with leads through Instagram and other social DMs.
We already have a structured process for this.
You will not be expected to invent our sales process from scratch.
You will need to be:
* Confident communicating with people
* Comfortable asking good questions
* Able to build rapport naturally through written conversation
* Comfortable following up with leads
* Commercially aware without being pushy
* Able to recognise buying signals
* Comfortable helping qualified prospects move towards booking a conversation with us
* Organised enough to manage multiple conversations properly
This is NOT primarily a DM Setter position.
We are intentionally combining these responsibilities because our current volume does not justify employing another full-time person purely for DMs. Yet.
At present, the DM component may account for roughly 3–4 hours of your working day, although this will naturally fluctuate.
The remainder of your time will be focused primarily on marketing and content growth.
As our marketing improves and lead volume grows, we expect to eventually hire a dedicated DM Setter.
If that happens, the DM component of this role would reduce significantly so you can focus increasingly on content and growth.
There is plenty of room for this position to evolve as the business grows.
# WHY WE ACTUALLY LIKE COMBINING THESE RESPONSIBILITIES
The person helping create our marketing will also hear directly from the people responding to it.
You’ll see firsthand:
* What prospects are worried about
* What stops them from taking action
* What questions keep coming up
* What language our market naturally uses
* Which content generates real conversations
* Which objections appear repeatedly
We want someone who notices those patterns and feeds them back into better marketing.
The DMs are not just something to “get through”.
They are another source of market intelligence.
# YOU’LL ALSO SUPPORT OUR GYM BRAND
The Sam Roberts Online Coaching brand will receive the majority of your marketing attention.
You will also support our established Australian gym, 5th Element Wellness
Additional gym marketing work will be required depending on priorities and available capacity.
# THE PERSON WE WANT
You do not have to be world-class at everything.
But you should be genuinely strong in several of these areas:
* Social media marketing
* Instagram
* Short-form content
* Hooks and retention
* Copywriting
* Content research
* Content repurposing
* Canva
* Social analytics
* Written English
* Organisation
* AI tools
* Marketing judgement
Most importantly, you need to be able to think independently.
If you prefer waiting for somebody to assign your next task, this isn’t the right position.
We want someone who notices opportunities and brings them to us.
We also want someone who is comfortable making recommendations.
If you think something we’re doing could be better, we want you to tell us why and what you would do instead.
# AI IS A MAJOR PART OF HOW WE WORK
We use AI extensively and expect you to become very good at using it.
You’ll have access to a substantial internal ChatGPT project containing detailed information about our:
* Target market
* Brand voice
* Offers
* Coaching methodology
* Content strategy
* Previous scripts
* Lead magnets
* Positioning
* Content examples
* Personal stories
* Marketing systems
We want you to use AI as a:
* Research assistant
* Creative sounding board
* Content critic
* Brainstorming partner
* Script-development tool
* Analysis tool
But we do NOT want generic AI content.
You need enough judgement to recognise when AI has produced something:
* Boring
* Generic
* Repetitive
* Inaccurate
* Off-brand
* Overwritten
* Obviously AI-generated
The human still needs to be the marketer.
A good workflow is:
Think → develop an idea → use AI to challenge or improve it → apply your own judgement → execute.
Not:
Ask ChatGPT for five posts → copy → publish.
# EXISTING TEAM SUPPORT
You will not be expected to do everything yourself.
We already have:
VIDEO EDITOR
Our editor handles the majority of our heavier video editing.
You would help provide:
* Researched topics and scripts
* Creative direction
* Reference content
* Editing notes
* B-roll ideas
* Feedback
You should still be comfortable creating simpler assets, carousels and Stories yourself.
SAM + MATT
We handle filming, technical expertise, higher-level strategy and approvals.
As you learn the business, our goal is for us to spend LESS time managing the day-to-day content process because you increasingly own it.
# YOUR WORKING HOURS
This is a genuine full-time, 40-hour-per-week position.
Our required schedule is based on Melbourne, Australia time because part of the role involves covering leads during our afternoon and evening.
Melbourne is typically 2–3 hours ahead of the Philippines depending on daylight saving.
SUNDAY
3:00pm – 9:30pm Melbourne time
This includes a 30-minute unpaid break, giving you 6 paid hours.
MONDAY TO THURSDAY
12:30pm – 10:00pm Melbourne time
This includes a one-hour unpaid meal break, giving you 8.5 paid hours per day.
There will be some flexibility around exactly when you take your breaks, provided our important afternoon/evening lead coverage is maintained.
FRIDAY + SATURDAY
Days off.
TOTAL PAID HOURS
40 hours per week.
Because Melbourne uses daylight saving and the Philippines does not, your local Philippine working hours will change slightly throughout the year.
Your approximate Philippine hours will generally fall between:
Sunday: 12:00/1:00pm – 6:30/7:30pm
Monday–Thursday: 9:30/10:30am – 7:00/8:00pm
Please only apply if you are genuinely comfortable working this schedule long term.
# COMPENSATION
Again, we are NOT looking for the cheapest person.
We would rather pay more for someone excellent who reduces our workload, takes ownership and helps grow the business than save money hiring someone we constantly need to manage.
Compensation will be based on:
* Experience
* Capability
* Previous results
* Quality of work
* Marketing judgement
* Level of responsibility you can take
Please include your expected monthly salary in PHP, NOT USD, when applying.
# INITIAL 90-DAY PROBATION
The first 90 days will be your initial onboarding and probation period.
During this period, you’ll work closely with the business owner to learn our:
* Audience
* Brand
* Content standards
* Offers
* Marketing approach
* DM process
* Systems
Content will initially receive closer review and approval.
As you demonstrate that you understand the brand and consistently produce work we trust, you’ll be given increasing autonomy.
Our goal is not to micromanage you, though you should be comfortable using screen-recording/time-tracking software during the first 2–3 months while trust is established.
Our goal is for you to eventually own the content pipeline and work increasingly independently.
By the end of your first few months, we want you increasingly coming to us saying:
“Here’s what performed. Here’s why I think it worked. Here’s what I think we should create next. I’ve already prepared the scripts.”
Rather than:
“What would you like me to work on today?”
# NICE TO HAVE
These are valuable, but none are mandatory:
* Fitness, health or coaching marketing experience
* Experience working with personal brands
* Experience marketing to mature men
* Previous DM setting or lead-generation experience
* Sales experience
* Meta Ads knowledge
* Direct-response marketing experience
* ManyChat experience
* Video editing
* Advanced Canva or Adobe skills
* Experience working with Australian businesses
* Experience with social research tools such as Sandcastles
Strong marketing ability, natural communication and good judgement matter more to us than ticking every box.
# HOW TO APPLY
Please
Include your application with the subject:
Content & Growth Specialist Application – [YOUR NAME]
Attach:
* Your CV
* Any relevant portfolio
* Any relevant examples of your previous marketing/content work
Then answer the following 8 questions directly in the BODY of your
Please number your answers 1–8 EXACTLY as shown below.
IMPORTANT: For these application questions, please answer in your own words.
We use AI heavily in our business, and strong AI skills are actually an advantage for this role.
However, at this stage we specifically want to assess your natural writing, communication and marketing judgement.
Please do not use ChatGPT or another AI tool to generate or substantially rewrite your answers. Basic spelling and grammar checking is completely fine.
If you progress to the practical assessment, you will be encouraged to use AI and other tools exactly as you would in the actual job.
Generic or clearly AI-generated applications will not progress.
# 1. AVAILABILITY + CURRENT WORK
Are you available to work the following schedule long term?
Sunday: 3:00pm–9:30pm Melbourne time, including a 30-minute unpaid break
Monday–Thursday: 12:30pm–10:00pm Melbourne time, including a one-hour unpaid meal break
Friday + Saturday: Off
Please also tell us:
* Any other jobs, clients or regular work commitments you would continue if hired
* Your earliest possible starting date
# 2. SALARY EXPECTATION
What monthly salary in PHP would you expect for this position?
Please provide your expectation in PHP, NOT USD.
We are not trying to find the lowest salary expectation.
Please tell us what you genuinely believe is appropriate based on your experience and capability.
# 3. SHOW US YOUR WORK
Share links to 1–3 pieces of social content OR social media accounts that you are particularly proud of working on.
For each example, tell us exactly what YOU personally contributed.
For example:
* Research
* Idea/concept
* Hook
* Script
* Caption
* Graphic design
* Filming
* Editing
* Publishing
* Strategy
* Analytics
Please be specific.
We want to understand what YOU did, rather than simply seeing something produced by the wider company or marketing team.
# 4. SHOW US HOW YOU THINK ABOUT GOOD CONTENT
Give us THREE social media accounts that you think are producing excellent organic content right now.
They do NOT need to be in the fitness industry.
For each account, briefly explain:
* What they do particularly well
* Why you think their content performs
* One thing you would consider adapting from their approach for another brand
There are no “correct” accounts here.
We’re interested in how you think about content.
# 5. TELL US ABOUT SOMETHING THAT DIDN’T WORK
Tell us about a piece of social content you personally worked on that underperformed.
Please explain:
* What you expected to happen
* What actually happened
* Why you think it underperformed
* What you learned
* What you changed afterwards, if anything
We are much more interested in your thinking than whether every piece of content you’ve created has been successful.
# 6. ONE REEL SUDDENLY TAKES OFF
Imagine we publish 20 Reels in one month.
Most perform fairly similarly.
One Reel suddenly generates 5–10x more views, shares AND enquiries than everything else.
What would you do next?
Walk us through your thinking and the specific actions you would take.
Please don’t just tell us that you would “create more similar content”.
We want to understand HOW you would analyse the result and d
# 7. HOW DO YOU USE AI?
Give us TWO specific examples of how you currently use AI to make your marketing or content work better.
Then give us ONE example of something you would NOT trust AI to do without significant human judgement or input.
Remember, we specifically want this answer in your own words.
# 8. NOBODY HAS GIVEN YOU A TASK LIST. WHAT DO YOU DO?
You begin your Monday shift.
We only have four days of scheduled content remaining.
Sam cannot film anything new until the following week.
Our video editor is already busy editing previously filmed Reels.
You have access to our existing social accounts, previous content, footage library, analytics and internal marketing resources.
Nobody has given you a list of tasks.
What do you do?
Walk us through:
* What you would look at first
* How you would d
* What you would try to produce
* How you would use the assets already available
* What you would bring back to us
* What you would do to make sure we don’t end up in the same position again
We’re specifically interested in seeing whether you naturally wait for direction or look for ways to move the marketing forward yourself.
# WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?
We will review applications and invite the strongest candidates directly to an online interview.
During the interview we will:
* Discuss your previous marketing experience
* Talk through real social content
* Explore how you think
* Discuss your application answers
* Role-play some realistic DM conversations with potential leads
We are not expecting you to memorise a sales script before the interview.
We want to see whether you can listen, communicate naturally, ask good questions and think on your feet.
The strongest candidates may then be invited to complete a PAID practical marketing assessment using real business content.
If you love social media, have up-to-date strong opinions about why content works, enjoy figuring things out and want genuine ownership rather than being handed a repetitive daily task list, we’d like to hear from you.
