Part-time | Up to 20 hours per week | US$8–10/hour + performance bonuses
I’m looking for an experienced, commercially minded Etsy Growth & Store Manager to help grow an established digital-products store focused on Excel and Google Sheets templates.
This is not a traditional VA role.
I’m looking for someone who can take ownership of growth, identify what is and is not working, make commercially sensible decisions, and action many of those changes directly across the products, listings and store.
The store currently has products, sales history and an existing catalogue, but growth has been limited. I’m looking for someone who can help turn that around.
The initial engagement will be a four-month growth sprint, with the potential to become a long-term role if the store is showing meaningful progress and a credible upward trajectory.
What you will be responsible for
- Audit the existing Etsy store and identify the biggest opportunities and problems.
- Analyse traffic, search visibility, conversion, product performance and customer behaviour.
- Improve Etsy SEO across titles, tags, descriptions and keyword targeting.
- Conduct competitor and product research to identify genuine demand and market gaps.
- Identify which existing products should be improved, repositioned, bundled, expanded or discontinued.
- Recommend and help create new product opportunities based on evidence rather than guesswork.
- Improve pricing, discounting and bundling strategy.
- Improve thumbnails, mockups, listing images and overall search-result presentation.
- Monitor performance and test changes based on data.
- Identify winning products and build related products or bundles around them.
- Use Etsy Ads selectively where there is evidence that a product is already worth amplifying.
- Provide concise weekly updates covering what was done, what changed, what the data is showing and what you plan to do next.
Product improvement and listing execution
This role is hands-on.
I do not want someone who only recommends changes and then waits for somebody else to implement them.
You should be comfortable:
- Reviewing existing Excel and Google Sheets templates and making practical improvements where needed.
- Updating formulas, layout, formatting, data validation, usability, instructions, dashboards and general product presentation.
- Improving existing templates so they are more useful, polished and competitive.
- Creating and updating Etsy thumbnails, listing images, mockups and other visual assets in Canva.
- Updating listing graphics based on search performance, competitor research and conversion data.
- Taking an idea from “this product needs improving” through to the updated product and refreshed Etsy listing.
You do not need to be an advanced spreadsheet developer, but you should be able to independently make sensible changes to existing products.
Excel and Google Sheets experience
You should be comfortable working directly in Excel and Google Sheets.
This may include:
- formulas
- formatting
- data validation
- layout and structure
- charts and dashboards
- conditional formatting
- instructions and usability improvements
- modifying existing templates
- general spreadsheet troubleshooting
Advanced VBA, Apps Script or complex automation is not required, although those skills would be a bonus.
Canva experience
You should be confident using Canva to create and update:
- Etsy thumbnails
- listing images
- mockups
- feature and benefit slides
- comparison images
- product previews
- other visual assets used within Etsy listings
Strong visual judgement is important.
What I’m looking for
Ideally, you have personally helped grow an Etsy store and can demonstrate measurable results.
I’m particularly interested in people who can show:
- where the store started
- what you personally changed
- how long it took
- what the sales or revenue grew to
- whether the growth was organic, paid or a combination
- how you d
I am not looking for someone who simply knows how to upload listings or complete a task list.
I want someone who can think commercially, prioritise effectively and take ownership of outcomes.
You should be comfortable saying:
- “This product is not worth more time.”
- “This listing has a traffic problem, not a conversion problem.”
- “This product is gaining traction, so we should expand around it.”
- “This activity is not producing results, so we should stop doing it.”
Success in this role
The goal is not to chase vanity metrics or produce activity for the sake of activity.
Success means creating a store that is visibly moving in the right direction through:
- increased qualified traffic
- stronger organic visibility
- improved conversion
- more products generating sales
- higher average order value
- clear winning product categories
- better use of bundles and related products
- sustainable month-on-month revenue growth
The store is currently generating only a small amount of monthly revenue, so there is significant room for improvement.
I am realistic about growth. I do not expect someone to create a massive store overnight.
What I do expect is meaningful progress, a clear strategy, and evidence that the store is gaining traction.
Hours and pay
- Up to 20 hours per week
- US$8–10/hour, depending on experience and proven results
- Performance bonuses are available for reaching agreed monthly sales milestones
- Initial four-month growth sprint
- Strong potential for a long-term role if the store performs
As the store grows, there may also be opportunities to bring in additional specialist support for areas such as social media, Pinterest, advanced product development or other channels.
The Growth & Store Manager would remain responsible for the overall commercial direction of the store.
When applying, please answer these questions
1. Tell me about an Etsy store you have personally helped grow. What were sales like before you became involved, what did they grow to, how long did it take, and what did you personally change?
2. If you inherited an Etsy digital-products store currently generating around US$30–40 per month, what would you do in your first 30 days?
3. How do you determine whether an Etsy listing has a traffic problem, SEO problem, conversion problem or product problem?
4. Tell me about a digital product you have personally launched or improved. What did you change and what result did it achieve?
5. What practical experience do you have with Excel and Google Sheets? What can you confidently modify or improve yourself?
6. What experience do you have using Canva for Etsy listing images, thumbnails, mockups or product presentation?
7. Please include any screenshots, store links, portfolio examples or other evidence of Etsy growth you can share.
I’m looking for someone who wants to take real ownership of the store and help build something meaningful over time.
