About Ultrabuild Construction Group

Ultrabuild Construction Group Pty Ltd is a growing Australian construction company delivering residential, commercial and government projects throughout Victoria, Australia. We are committed to quality workmanship, strong client relationships, and delivering projects safely, on time and within budget.
We're looking for an experienced Construction Estimator to join our team and take ownership of pricing and quoting across a mix of commercial, industrial, and residential projects. While we work across all three sectors, our current pipeline leans heavily toward structural steel work, so candidates with strong steel estimating experience will be prioritised.
This position will see you working closely with our project and construction management team on a day-to-day basis, so clear communication and reliability are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate, detailed estimates and quotes for commercial, industrial, and residential construction projects
• Take off quantities and price structural steel packages (fabrication, supply, and/or erection scopes)
• Review architectural, structural, and engineering drawings to identify scope, materials, and labour requirements
• Source and compare supplier and subcontractor pricing
• Build and maintain priced assemblies, price lists, and estimating templates within Wunderbuild
• Manage quote requests to suppliers and subcontractors, and follow up on responses
• Assist in preparing client-facing proposals and quotes
• Flag risks, scope gaps, or pricing discrepancies before quotes go out
• Maintain organised, up-to-date records of all estimates and supporting documentation

Requirements

• Minimum 3–5 years' experience as a construction estimator
• Demonstrated experience estimating structural steel (essential)
• Solid understanding of commercial, industrial, and/or residential construction methods and documentation
• Hands-on experience using Wunderbuild (preferred, not essential)
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy under deadline pressure
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
• Reliable internet connection and a suitable home office setup

Nice to Have

• Experience working with Australian builders, contractors, or construction companies
• Familiarity with Australian construction standards, terminology, and documentation conventions
• Experience with take-off software
