JOB OVERVIEW

About the Role

Sound Commerce is a payment processing consulting agency that manages and outsources payment operations for online e-commerce businesses. We're hiring a detail-driven VA to own chargeback prevention tool configuration for our merchant portfolio — enrolling merchants, keeping their dispute alert settings accurate, and making sure nothing falls through the cracks between processors, merchants, and our internal systems.

What You'll Do

Enroll new merchants in our chargeback prevention platform and verify the setup is complete and accurate
Follow up daily with merchants who still owe processor portal credentials, until access is received and logged
Alert enrollment monitoring
Keep merchant account details current as changes happen, so records always match what's live with the processor
Support gateway setup tasks as needed
Flag anything time-sensitive immediately — this role is client-facing and directly affects revenue protection

Required Skills

Hard Skills (Must Have):
Experience with chargeback/dispute prevention, fraud alerts, or similar merchant enrollment processes
Comfortable working within payment gateways or merchant portal systems
Strong Excel / Google Sheets skills
High accuracy with data entry and recordkeeping

Soft Skills:
Extreme attention to detail
Persistent, professional follow-up communication
Comfortable handling confidential merchant and financial data
Able to follow SOPs exactly

Preferred (Nice to Have)
Experience in the payments industry (payment processing, merchant services, fintech, or e-commerce operations)
Experience and comfortable working in a startup environment
Familiarity with chargeback prevention or dispute management platforms
Familiarity with payment gateways
