JOB OVERVIEW

IMPORTANT: To apply, you must send examples of VSL/direct-response video ads that you personally created end-to-end, including scriptwriting and editing. If you only edit finished scripts, this is not the right role.

I am looking for an end-to-end VSL creative producer for a new direct-response ecommerce brand we are starting from scratch.

You will be in charge of making VSLs for Meta ads.

This is not a basic video editing role.

I need someone who can take product research, avatar research, angle direction, and brand information, then turn that into a high-converting VSL-style video ad from start to finish.

About me:

I have previously scaled an ecommerce brand to over $300,000/month in revenue, primarily using direct-response paid ads.

Now I am starting a new ecommerce brand from scratch and looking to build a strong creative team around it. The goal is to scale aggressively and reach $1,000,000/month in revenue within the next year.

Because this is a new brand, I am looking for strong early hires who can move fast, think deeply, and take ownership of creative output. Before hiring full-time, I want to test people through paid one-off projects.

This first project is a paid trial. If the work is strong, we may do more paid one-off projects. If those go well and the brand shows traction, this can turn into a long-term full-time role with base pay, performance bonuses, and the opportunity to grow into a managerial creative role.

Long-term opportunity:

If you perform well and become an early hire, there is a lot of room to grow.

You could eventually take ownership of:

* VSL scripting
* Creative strategy
* Avatar and angle research
* AI video generation workflows
* Video editing systems
* Creative testing output
* Managing other editors, writers, and designers
* Building the creative department as the brand scales

I am looking for someone who wants more than a simple task-based editing job. I want someone who is hungry, detail-oriented, strong at direct-response storytelling, and excited about helping scale a new ecommerce brand from the ground up on Meta.

What you should be good at:

* Direct-response marketing
* Ecommerce ads on Meta
* VSL scriptwriting
* Hook writing
* Avatar/customer research
* Understanding customer pain points
* Translating product research into persuasive scripts
* Video editing
* AI voiceover tools
* AI video generation tools
* Finding relevant B-roll
* Generating B-roll with AI when needed
* Creating native, high-retention video ads for Meta

Tools/skills that are helpful:

* CapCut, Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or similar
* ElevenLabs, PlayHT, or other AI voiceover tools
* Higgsfield, Runway, Kling, Veo, Pika, or other AI video tools
* Canva, Figma, or simple graphics tools
* AI tools like ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, etc
* Strong English comprehension and storytelling ability
* Ability to use AI intelligently without creating generic AI-sounding work

This paid project:

This is a highly open-ended paid project.

We will provide:

* Brand details
* Product information
* Offer details
* Our own deep research
* Target avatar
* Exact angle to create the ad around
* General direction for the VSL
* Competitor/reference examples
* Any claims or wording to avoid
* Brand assets/product images if available

Your job is to take those resources, understand the product and customer, then create the Video Sales Letter.

You will be responsible for:

* Reading and understanding the research
* Thinking through the best hook and script structure
* Writing the full VSL script
* Creating the visual flow
* Finding relevant B-roll
* Generating B-roll with AI when needed
* Creating or sourcing AI voiceover
* Editing the final video
* Adding captions, overlays, zooms, callouts, and simple graphics
* Creating hook variations
* Delivering launch-ready videos

Deliverables:

1. One full VSL script
The script should be direct-response focused, emotionally compelling, and built around the avatar and angle provided.

2. One finished VSL-style video ad
Length: 2 minutes to 2 minutes 30 seconds
Format: 9:16 vertical
Style: direct-response, native, clear, persuasive, mobile-friendly, and geared toward customers in the USA aged 50+

3. Three hook variations
Create three different opening hooks for the video.

4. Three total video files
The body of the video can stay mostly the same, but each version should have a different opening hook.

5. Visuals/B-roll
Use relevant B-roll, product visuals, graphics, and AI-generated clips where needed.

6. Captions and editing
The final videos should include clean captions, strong pacing, visual variety, and mobile-readable text.

7. Short thought-process report
Include a short, concise report explaining:

* Why you chose the hook
* Why you structured the script the way you did
* Why you chose the visuals/B-roll
* What customer emotion or pain point you were trying to target
* What you think makes the ad persuasive

Important rules:

* Do not copy competitor ads word-for-word.
* Do not use copyrighted clips unless clearly licensed or approved.
* Do not invent fake studies.
* Do not create generic AI-sounding copy.
* Do not make the video feel like a polished brand commercial.
* The ad should feel direct-response, native, emotionally clear, and built to sell.
* You are allowed to use aggressive direct-response techniques.
* You are allowed to generate AI Avatars and Authority Figures including doctors

Compensation:

This first project is a paid one-off trial.

Project pay:
$150 for the completed project.

If the work is strong, we may do additional paid one-off projects before considering a full-time role.

Long-term full-time opportunity:

If you perform well and the brand scales, this role can become a full-time position.

A future full-time role may include:

* Stable monthly base pay (2.5-5k USD / month or much more if promoted to Creative Director)
* Performance bonuses for winning ads (% of ad spend on winning ads made by you or under you if you are Creative Director)
* Bonuses when ads hit spend/profitability milestones
* Monthly team bonuses if the brand hits revenue and profitability targets
* Opportunity to move into a creative manager or VSL creative director role as the team grows
* Significantly higher earning potential for exceptional performance as the brand scales

The goal is to reward people who help us create ads that actually win. For this one-time project, no performance bonus will be given. However, if you are hired for a full-time role based on your performance on the one-time project(s), you will be offered generous bonuses.

To apply, please include:

1. Your best VSL or direct-response video ad examples that were made completely by you. Feel free to show as many as you want. You must have handled both scriptwriting and editing
2. The AI tools you use for end-to-end VSL creation, including AI voiceover tools, AI copywriting tools, and AI video generation tools
3. Your editing software
4. Your experience with direct-response ecommerce ads, specifically VSLs
5. Your experience with avatar/customer research for ecommerce
6. Your AI tool stack for VSL creation
7. A brief explanation of your exact role in each portfolio example: script, editing, voiceover, B-roll, AI visuals, or strategy
8. **The phrase “VSL creative producer” in your subject line so I know you read this**

Please do not apply if you only edit videos from finished scripts.

Again, your application must include portfolio examples and a clear explanation of what you personally did on each one. Applications without relevant VSL/direct-response examples will not be considered.

I am looking for someone who can think through the hook, script, visuals, B-roll, AI generation, and final edit from a research packet.

You must be independent, hard working, and creative.

This is a big opportunity for the right person. We are starting from scratch, but the goal is to move very fast and build something large. If you are strong, reliable, hungry, and can create ads that perform, there is serious long-term upside.

Expect a reply if you are a good fit within 24 hours.
