Role Overview
We are looking for a part-time Embroidery Digitizer / DST File Designer to convert logos, text, and artwork into production-ready DST files for embroidery. This role will support custom apparel projects and requires someone with strong technical embroidery digitizing experience, reliable turnaround times, and the ability to prepare clean files for commercial embroidery machines.
Key Responsibilities
* Digitize logos, text, and artwork into DST files optimized for embroidery production
* Adjust stitch types, density, underlay, and pull compensation based on fabric type
* Clean up customer-supplied artwork before digitizing
* Provide stitch counts and sew-out previews for approval
* Troubleshoot embroidery files that do not run cleanly on machines
* Communicate clearly when a design may not embroider well before production
Requirements
* Proven experience in commercial embroidery digitizing
* Portfolio or sample sew-outs required
* Experience with digitizing software such as Wilcom, Pulse, Embrilliance, Hatch, or similar
* Strong understanding of stitch direction, density, underlay, and fabric behavior
* Ability to work with AI, PDF, PNG, JPG, and other artwork formats
* Able to clean up low-quality artwork when needed
* Reliable 24–48 hour turnaround for standard files
* Strong attention to detail and clear communication
Nice to Have
* Experience with left-chest logos, hats/caps, jacket backs, and small text
* Familiarity with apparel, event merch, or custom embroidery production
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a reliable embroidery digitizer who understands how designs translate from screen to fabric and can produce clean, production-ready DST files with minimal revisions.
