JOB OVERVIEW

We're a US-based alternative/streetwear clothing brand selling direct to consumer. Our customers are 16-24 year olds. Our model is evergreen, not product drops. Email and SMS currently drive about 30% of our revenue, so this is a core role, not an afterthought.

We already have a working Klaviyo account with live flows. We need someone to own it, improve it, and stop it going stale.

What you'll be responsible for

Flows (automations)

Maintain and improve our existing flows: welcome, abandoned cart, abandoned checkout, browse abandon, post-purchase, winback
Diagnose flows that are underperforming and fix them — some of ours are declining right now and we need someone who spots that before we do
Build new flows where there's an obvious gap

Campaigns

Plan and send campaigns around our drop calendar
Write the copy, build the emails, choose the segments
Improve our segmentation — we currently send to the same audience too often and we know it's hurting us

Reporting

One monthly report: revenue by flow and campaign, revenue per recipient, list growth, deliverability, what you tested and what you learned
Flag problems as you see them, don't save them for the report

Requirements

Must have:

Real Klaviyo experience — you can build conditional splits, use profile properties, and set up suppression without looking it up

Ecommerce background, ideally fashion, apparel, or another drop-driven brand

Strong written English. You'll be writing copy aimed at young people in the US, so it has to sound natural, not corporate.

Understanding of deliverability: sender reputation, list hygiene, sunset flows, and why open rates are unreliable now
Shopify familiarity

Klaviyo SMS experience

Basic design ability (Canva or Figma) for email assets

Experience with a brand that has a strong subculture identity

What we provide

Klaviyo and Shopify access

Product photography and campaign assets

Drop calendar and brand guidelines

Direct communication with the founder — no middle layer

Hiring process
Application (see below)
Short paid test task — writing and flow logic, paid at full rate
Ongoing role

How to apply

Answer all of these. We don't review applications that skip questions.

Start your message with the word INKWELL.

Which ecommerce brands have you run Klaviyo for? Tell us the category and rough monthly revenue if you can share it.

Our abandoned checkout flow revenue dropped 35% last month. What would you check first, and why?

We send campaigns 3-4 times a week to the same engaged segment of about 16,000 people, out of a 33,000 person list.

What's wrong with that and what would you do differently?

Write one subject line and the first two lines of an email announcing a limited run of printed baggy jeans, aimed at 17 year olds who follow alternative fashion. Don't explain it, just write it.
